Default Spark Plug Wire Shields or Boots

Which one do you use? Pros / Cons and should I even bother?

When I did my plugs and wires last week, I bought full set of booties for them.

What I didn't notice, was that at the end of the booties, there a little metal circlet sewn into the material, which of course was too small for either end of the plug wire to fit through.

I may just use a set of wire snips and cut that little bitch out.

Just keep an eye on that if you are buying from a brick and mortar store and you can touchy-feely them.

I bought a different colored set of these and they went right on my LS2. SHipped fast and cheaper than going to Oreillys or somewhere and paying $15-20 per set of 2.

Now I havent even started the car siince installing them and the headers a month ago, but they material feels no different than what has been on my truck with headers for two years now with no problems.

Oh, and no metal ring.

Ehhh - that's how they work put the metal eyelet over the plug. That traps the eyelet in that small space when you push the plug wire connector on. Then the rest of the sleeve - the wider end - just covers from the plug back.

X2! I have them as well. They will not keep the plug from burning if it is touching the header but it prolongs the life of the boot/wire dramatically.

I had a hard time getting things to work out ok. I should probly start with a wire that's easier to reach next time... I just got frustated between losing my damned ratchet along the passenger side wheel well and headers 20 times.

I wrapped my headers, and the spark plug wire has been laying on it since and never burned.
