Default Group Buy Opportunity: Extreme Composites Hood

Alex (kl2onik on the LS1Tech forums) recently contacted Extreme Composites to see if they'll give us a group discount on their CTS-V hood (see pictures below). They just responded back, offering a $100 discount if we get 4 people and a $150 discount if we get 8 people to sign up. The hoods normally cost $750 without vents and $900 with vents and rain trays. It only comes primed, so you'll need to have it professionally painted.

If you're interested in purchasing one in the next few days, either post your intentions here, or drop me a line. This is an awesome deal.

I'm in but I was hoping we could do it in a couple weeks. A few days is short notice and I just outed the cash for those black accessory wheels. Can we change the group buy date to April 15th it 20th? That will give us time to get finances in order and to get as many people as possible to sign up with us for the biggest discount possible...

I'm saying apr 15th at the latest cause they still have to make them, ship them, and then we have to get them ready and painted (looking at like 3 weeks here easy). Yeah skydivers v is hot mine will look almost identical once I get the hood on, my wheels are just the stock chromes...oh and I also dont have a fkn boeing 747 engine in my car lol

Love those hoods, it was the shipping and paint work that kileld me from ever buying one. I've read a few horror paint stories with these that required extensive prep work to get them to turn out right. All said and done it was like $1800-2000 for the hood.

I payed 147 for shipping on mine....to Springfield Mo

and ^^^ he is correct, it is a pain to get it cleaned up.....lucky for me my shop knew me, and quoted me a decent price.....insurance paid for it to be painted, and I paid the shop 300 to get the vents seated in the hood, and everything...

....but they had to do a lot of clean up, there were those little needle sized pin holes all over the damn thing, that had to be fixed up, and I know the shop spent most of their time finding those and filling them, than sanding it back down to smoothness again, so they could paint it...

...however after saying all that, I would do it again. I love this hood, to me it just makes the car look so much more aggressive/badass lol

How much extra room in the middle does it give you? Extra room for a supercharger?

I should note that my hood is a Spectre Werks though. Just odd they both have that issue.

I know how you feel man i'll be doing my ls7 clutch with this hood. Prob try and get this clutch in in the next two weeks so I can do this hood after.

Regardless shipping is around 150 depending on your destination people. Their site says they are from Rockdale texas so the further away the higher it will be. Cant see it being more than 150 regardless. That 8 people group buy would surely cover the full shipping cost and the 4 ppl buy most of it. WHO IS IN FOR THE APRIL 15th BUY??? Lets see some +1s so we can tally them up.
