Mind sharing just WTF you did to get that steering shaft back on?
All I'd read previously was a "little" dent in the tube had to be made.
This is going to have to be one SERIOUS dent to get the shaft back on... looks like it'll be dented nearly in half.
I read another thread in here and a guy mentioned he couldn't get the steering shaft back on even with the header completely off... which is what mine looks like right now--crazy.
I held the stock MM's up beside my CS mounts and the CS mounts look a hair shorter, but not enough to cause THIS.
The OE mounts give a little when installed with weight on them..the CS Mounts are the same as the OE compressed height.

It should be a little dent. If it's not, either the Creative Steel mounts are causing a major problem, or you have a funky set of headers. I estimate that I had to put a broad, 1/3" dent in the side of the headers to get them to fit.

It's not as bad as i made it out to seem. I needed a fresh pair of eyes since I'd been working too long. I was having trouble pulling the steering shaft down to the connection, so it's shortness made it look like I had to come over more.
A buddy of mine called me after he got off work since he'd missed a call from me earlier, so we pulled the DS back off and dented that area (as described above--a broad 1/3") and it's all back together now.
Just thought I'd add that I really like the CS mounts. I wrapped them in the extra Lava wrap I had from the headers and then put their included aluminum heat shields and for the hell of it put the original worthless heat shields on top of those. I don't think my mounts will be melting anytime soon.
The sound from the headers is awesome. Needs a tune badly though, it's running very rich... and my very rear PS bolt was broken before I even touched it. I might have to pull a head to get it out. There is an apparent exhaust leak from that side.
My kooks 1-3/4's I had on my old car went on just fine with no clearance issues at all. My first thought on this car was that OBX headers were just a PITA compared to the kooks but their fit and finish of the OBX is really quite nice. Taking the size difference into consideration between the kooks i had and the OBX i have now... I really think any 1-7/8 headers would be a tight fit on our cars. Its just more heard about with the OBX since they only offer 1-7/8.
I was told by a buddy that his buddy used OBX headers on his V and lost power with them and claimed that they are garbage. I find this highly unlikely considering the numbers my car puts down with them and everyone else i've seen on here has had good gains. Anyone else heard bad things about the power gains with OBX??

OBX used to exclusively sell headers with resonators which looked like cats, but weren't. More recently they offer catted connectors with them which I can verify are actually cats. They are tiny though when compared to... any other cat I've ever seen. My CEL is on, likely because too much air is getting by. I will be getting it tuned very soon.
