Water leaking onto ps mat?
It was raining cats and dogs today ( go figure in Seattle) and I got home after an 2 hour commute with the most moronic drivers in the country to see two little streams and a small puddle on the ps mat. My first thought was S*** the heater core is toast but then it was just water not antifreeze? I am sure it was water so could it be the windshield leaking? Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks,
Dave

clogged sunroof drains can cause a leak down the a pillar in the front- or the c pillar in the back
also if you had the defroster on- the a/c compressor cycles on when the defroster is active- so it does make condensation- if you have a clogged evaporator drain or a crack in the hvac box it could cause water on the front floor.

Check sunroof first. Then check weatherstripping on door, and also make sure the drain holes at bottom of door aren't plugged up and its letting water out, otherwise, that might be getting into the carpet.
Also check the front panel near the cabin air filter.
Odds are its one of the first ones...

I don't know that it does, but if it was raining really hard I could see water getting to that side of the cowl, once you get the cover off you can see that the filter is pretty deep down in there and there would be nowhere else to go but inside the cabin. Pop the cover off and see if the filter is wet, then you'll know. The passenger side is the only place it could possibly enter through the cowl.
Most causes of this are clogged evap drains (more prevalent with summer use though) and leaking windshields, although they usually leak all the time, not just in really heavy rain. Has the windshield been replaced?

This is most likely a clogged HVAC housing drain tube. They get filled with crap, the little rubber nipple clogs and the HVAC housing fills with water till it finds the split in the case.
Its on the driver side of the transmission tunnel (99%SURE).
Get a hook tool and poke around, watch out for the water that will come showering down.
I am local to you, PM me if you have trouble!

I will second the HVAC housing drain tube. Mine clogged and was dripping on my wife's leather shoes while I was driving. 1. Just pull back the carpet on the front of the drivers side tranny tunnel and you will see the black hose to the HVAC drain going through the floor. 2. Put a towel down as when you remove it you will have about 32 OZ of water coming your way. 3. Remove hose from HVAC. 4. Clean up water. 5. Unclog drain. (My trusty coat hanger solved this problem for me)

Stupid Water leak!!!
I had the same problem recently, I walked out to my car and the passenger seat was full of water. I don't know about you but I had a good gallon splashing arround on mine. I thought it was from a water bottle but it turned out to be a clogged drain. Now I'm not quite an engineer but wouldn't it be better to point the overflow outside the car? Hopefully they don't direct the radiator over heat into the air vents.
