Angry Broke Intake manifold bolt, can this be fixed?!

i was putting back together my 04 V and i was almos done with everything until i snapped the front left corner bolt on top of the manifold. So i took it all back off and used a reverse bit to try and remove the broken bolt, but that sucker is in there like swimwear. i cant take it out :/ so if any of u guys kno if i can just put som type of sealent around the manifold where the bolt is so i get no air leaks and just tighten the other ones real good?! let me kno your opinions thanks

dude, you need to get that bolt out of there, and follow the ******* proper torque sequence before you destroy your car.

44 INCH LBS, then 89 INCH LBS.

N O T NOT NOT FT LBS.

DO NOT use sealant. take it out PROPERLY and save your cars life.

Have a welder? MIG or better a TIG weld a nut to the broken bolt and it will come right out. Call a local welding shop most do broken bolt extraction. Prob cost you $75.

Yup, weld a bolt on and pull that sucker out... It would be stupid to just try and seal it up... Gl

if you snapped the head of the bolt off pull all the bolts out, take the intake off and you should be able to use vise grips on the bolt shaft and spin it out.
+100 on not using sealer and doing it right, vacum leaks will cause a lean condition and destory your motor from detonation
and invest in a inch pound torque wrench , lots of wrenching requires it on these cars.

+1 to cammedv

I'd try using a dremel to cut a slot in the top of the bolt then use a hex shanked flat blade screwdriver & crescent wrench... or vice grips if you've got a nub and don't want to weld

I broke an intake bolt before not following proper procedure, and it was a bitch to fix. I got the bolt piece out, and did the proper method to installation. Fixed all my vacuum leak issues, as well.

Something is telling me... dude is gonna be coming back like "I used some black sealant, and it works great!"

2 weeks later, he comes back "guys I drove it around for a while while the RPM's raced up, and now I have a broken piston.... what gives?!!?!"

I had a header bolt break off the stock manifold. Just have some one with a welder come by and put a nut on it, it will come off really quick.

How deep is the bolt in the head? You can always use a tiny dremel cut off wheel and cut a notch in it and use a screwdriver to get it out.

My bet is OP used 44 ft lbs instead of inch lbs.

My bet, is he didn't use a torque wrench at all.

I dont when I do intake manifolds. Snug them down with a 1/4 ratchet and your good. You dont have to torque them down at all really.
