And my 2005ctsv... I created my own muffler to mimic the stock configuration and its was fine at idle.

1st. world. problems. I look at drone like this, if you don't want it, don't modify the car. But if you do modify the car, don't expect it not to drone.....ever heard the drone inside of a ferrari?

Well,.....here's a set that was installed on a CTS-V Coupe successfully.
A little work and all can be well (if that's what you want). Only one end of the chamber is open to the exhaust pipe.

Stock muffler for comparison. Which would you want under your ride?

Turbulence, at least. I'm glad it solved your drone issues, but this might have been at the cost of performance, no?

Once the closed-off tubes are filled with exhaust gas, they are essentially a pressurized chamber and do not flow back into the pipe. You are right, in a way, that the more efficient location for the j-pipe connection is on the backside, away from the exhaust flow (if you have room).

Ever seen a Corsa muffler split open? A lot of noise-cancelling magic going on in there, for sure.

Question Magnaflow Warranty and Drone

Would adding a bullet muffler underneath the car help with the noise level and the drone? Is there even room on a magnaflow 15684 system?

PS: Magnaflow's "Lifetime Warranty" is complete crap. They make you take off and ship your entire system back to them for a warranty check. Also got the run around from the support. I cannot recommend Magnaflow to anyone. Beware!

I don't understand how you've had this issue or who peed in your Wheaties this morning (Minus Corsa ). I have a Corsa Sport Cat-back (with the resonator) and have ran it with Stock manifolds/cats, stock manifolds/high-flow cats, and catless Pacesetter LT's and all have yielded zero drone. I'm actually amazed how loud it can get in the top end and not have drone....

If Voodoo says he's c6 system is perfect, I believe him. If you say yours sucked on all the vehicles you listed above, I believe that too. But nobody here is and exhaust system designer or sound engineer so its opinion at best.

It's not hard to believe that certain exhaust systems work better on some cars than on others. More reason for me to keep the stock setup.

Its a tolerance of volume.

Like cam choices i like a cam i can sit in traffic and not shake the soda out of my can.

Others like to see their boobies shake...

My new volume level is closed windows and music off. If i can have a conversation with the person next to me it passes. If i cant then its too loud.

Had my share of earth shakin exhausts where if the windows were closed my head was gonna pop from the sound pressures...
