Default need a quick reply! couple questions

Just put a cam in the girl friends v. Noticed it didn't have the yellow valve springs. Was just curious if the cts v ls6 didn't have those or what the deal is?? Been doing a little searching haven't come up with my answer... everything I see talks about ls6 having yellow springs.

K, so would these technically be identical to yellow springs? Was going to sell these things to my buddy just wanting to know if they are the same as the yellow springs.

Do they have a green or orange stripe on them? Mine had an orange stripe on them. I think I remember reading that the yellows has a bad batch between 02-03. They were also good for .550 lift the all blue, green or orange were good for .580 lift.

There have been a few updates to the LS6 springs. IIRC the first were blue stripe, then yellow stripe, followed by solid yellow, and currently solid blue (I think the LS9 springs have replaced them now). I would not reuse them. You should always use new valve springs as they wear over time. The striped LS6 springs had breakage issues also. Not worth saving $80.

Agree. Not sure why gm used so many different variations of springs in the same motor. Probably whatever they had on the shelves that week.

Alright guys, well thanks gor the replys! Mine have a yellow stripe on them. May just sell him the cam and tell him to get a new set of springs. Don't really want to take the risk... Should have a video of the cam up soon!
