Whats up guys, I need some opinions to mull over as I'm torn. After several months of close watching, I am ready to pull the trigger on a V2. I have been holding out for a manual trans, which one finally popped up close to me with the right miles/options/price/etc. Now, a black diamond coupe pops up for sale about a mile away from my house. I checked it out last night and it is CLEAN. I just really really wish it was a manual trans. Its such a good deal, I think I could still be happy with the auto though. What would you guys do? They are both the same asking price.
2010 Black Manual Trans sedan with 34K miles
or
2011 Black Diamond coupe Automatic with 20K Miles Both are single owner cars with recaros, etc I'm torn

I've driven both a A6 and M6 and I too also had my heart set on a M6. The A6 has shift buttons not paddles and bump stick on the shifter. The aftermarket makes paddle adapters which make the steering wheel buttons more functional. As you can see in my sig what I ended up with. Prices are falling on V2's. There are still brand new 2012's on dealership lots.
I'd always opt for the car with lower miles!!!

I wanted a M6 Sedan when I started looking at V2s...but they are hard to come buy. Some when the one I bought showed up at a price I liked, I decided not to wait from a M6 to come up in the price range I wanted be at. Now that I have been living with the Auto, I feel I made the right choice for me.
Like a couple have asked...what are your intentions for the car...
If you want to be fast down the quarter, Auto.
If you want to be fast around a road course, Manual.
If you are going to DD the car, Auto.
If you just want a fun weekend cruiser, Manual.
I have driven both...M6 is more fun, and the Auto is easier to live with.
The way I look at the body styles...
Sedan>Wagon>Coupe
I personally hate the wagons tail lights and it has a huge blind spot...but there is a cool factor in (if built) have a 700+ horsepower wagon.
The coupe has a very ugly *** end in my opinion, but you can fit wider tires and wheels in the back. Sedan and wagons can only get 10" wheels and 305 tires before you start needing to make adjustments.
The sedan gives a good everyday useability. And since they are more common, you can find them cheaper.
Between those to cars, I would take the M6 Sedan...mainly based off your statement that you have been waiting for one to show up. If you really wanted an M6, get that one.

Thanks guys. You are right in that I need to stay true to myself and hold out for the manual.
The auto is such a good deal it is hard to pass up...I was going to see if anyone who preferred manuals actually got an auto and was going to enlighten me on the manually shift modes, etc.
I havent seen any 1 owner coupes with <20K miles for $43K until this one, let alone a black diamond.
I've slept on it and I am going for the sedan - thanks dudes! Wish i could have both.

The manual mode in the auto is ok, but it is fairly slow and dim-witted when you tap the buttons. Now, after tuning the TCM it is an amazing auto to drive. The down shifts in Sport Mode are insane, and it is very ready to allow the lower gear to be held longer.
This is mine...Trans in sport mode, and cruising at 45. Camera is shaky because this is a back 2 lane road in the middle of west Texas.
