Default Thinking of selling the V1

So like the title says, I'm thinking about selling my V1, and am trying to get some ideas on its replacement....After I sell the V I will have about 27k cash to spend on a new car....but I only want a loan for 5-10K, so that means I can only spend around 37k on the new car.

What are your guys thoughts?? I know I could find a 2009-2010 V2 and am considering that, but was just curious if anyone else had any other thoughts?

Basically looking for a luxury car, that is fun to drive and decently high HP stock, so I dont want to modify it. I have bad luck modifying cars lol, so I only want to do exhaust really and thats about it...

thoughts?

I would vote for the V2 if that is your price point. As used M5 would be fun, but I shutter to think what repairs would cost.

Good luck keeping the mods to just exhaust, thats how it all begins!

Perhaps try an M3 or M5? Fun to drive and well engineered.

Why do you want to sell it to begin with? I've never owned a car for longer than 2 years and I'm hoping to turn over a new leaf with this one. The plan is 10 years, 200k miles, but who knows. An M3 is super super sexy, but yeah...people think Cadillac has a tax, just do a few searches on Bimmers. I almost got a 335i instead of the CTS-V but after I did a search of common problems and their costs, I quickly ran away.

honestly, I just have the absolute worst luck with modified cars, and I want something that is still mostly stock, and perhaps have a warranty where I can count on to drive place to place day to day without any issues. Plus I really do love the interiors in the new V...

I know you weren't the one who brought up the M3, but you aren't going to find one for $37k that has a factory warranty. That is unless you're willing to get a 3rd party warranty, which is what I have, but they're not the best.

Im going to stick my neck out on this one.... FX50. I have the 1st gen 45 and love it, but to get my hands on the 50 would be sweet. The thing drives like a car, sounds good and in my opinion looks good. Some people cant stand how they look, but thats all relative. Its like the SUV version of the GT-R

Yeah, that's a nice ride, actually. Thing is, he wants something that is fast without mods. 390hp/4500+ lbs = way slower than CTS-V.

The FX50 is still fast, even if it's slower than a V. If I were in your situation I'd look at a used G37. Reliable, fun and long term affordability. For 35k you could probably get a one year old model with lots of warranty coverage available.

Porsche Cayman. Truly a great driving car and light and quick instead of being heavy and powerful

He's probably looking for something halfway practical, if I had to guess.

2009ish 335i RWD 6MT. Very fast in stock form with the I6 twin turbo, and very moddable. Tune really wakes them up.

I agree with you but would hate to have to pay for repairs out of pocket on it. They're wicked fast FBO and tune.

Ok well right now I have the V, its got built heads, decent size cam, full exhaust, and an 8.8 rear....I like the car, but it seems like **** just keeps going wrong with the damn thing....so I am driving around my 2002 MDX, which is what I drive in the winter or when the caddi is broken (which has been frequently the last year). Originally I was thinking of selling the MDX and getting a used 2005-2006 FX35....but now I'm considering just keeping the MDX and basically only using it for when I need to haul something, or drive in the bad weather during winter....But if I keep it then I need to replace the V. The reason I want to do that is cause the mdx already has 160k miles on it, and I dont want to drive it around all the time, which i seem to have to do with the current V, and thats why I'm looking at replacing it with something more stock/reliable

It'd be a long wait for the ats-v, as I dont want the pmt of a new caddi. I have not had a car payment for the last two years, and I dont want another one lol....I'm willing to get one for 5-10k cause the <200 would not be bad to pay monthly, but not wanting another expensive car payment lol

37k vs 90k.........enough said right there lol

A c6z or even a loaded 08+ c6 would be nice. You really cant go wrong with a V2 though even though they arent all that quick in bone stock form.
