i am thinking that this conversion will come in somewhere in the realms of $1000. which will require you to purchase another set of wheels, too. using that logic you can have a one off set of wheels made for anywhere from $1200-2000 from any of the reasonable companies unless you want to go with a full forged, 3 piece wheel or something.

it's awesome to have this option, but unless you plan to go through more than a few sets of wheels with your car then it's not super viable cost wise. that being said, i still may convert to 5x120, hah.

^^^ Links to where I can get a set of one off wheels in 6x115 for $1,200-$2000... Not downing you, just don't think it's feasible to get a set of custom wheels made for $300 a wheel.

i was quoted $345/wheel for 19" and $415/wheel for 20" forgestar CF10. so $1380 a set for 19" wheels and $1660 for a set of 20" wheels. that's before shipping (another $150) in a gunmetal finish in our "special" 6x115 bolt pattern.

i figure so long as you don't go crazy with the wheel selection you should be in the ballpark for a lot of other wheels, too.

For me, its all about having that second set for track days. And the 3rd set of rears for a 1/4 blast. Also, stuff like rotors are easier to find in a 5 lug pattern, and cheaper from what I've seen. Yea, if one's use is a daily driver and nothing else, no problem staying stock. But if you have a few sets of tires for different track days, having a way to get cheaper wheels is nice.

If you don't mind, elaborate further on this or maybe just PM where you were quoted these numbers at. Was this with you providing the design/Cad file for it or you giving them your idea of what you wanted and they were creating them?

PM me the info, because if that's the case for 19's, sign me up...

Like I said, I have already bought SKF 6 bolt hubs and have 2.75 sets of 6 bolt wheels :/, but I'm really interested in seeing where this goes. I have V2 rotors waiting in storage as well, but have yet to decide on rotors, so this could still be promising. For reference, my hubs cost near $1k if I recall correctly.

No thanks to the cheap hubs. I'm interested depending on price and what all comes with it.

OK guys, here are the numbers that you've been waiting for.

For the 5 lug kits we are using Timken bearings. What we will be doing to these hubs is changing the bolt pattern to 5 on 120mm and turning down the centers to fit 2010+ Camaro rotors. We will be installing 14mm lug studs which is what the new Camaro's come with, 14mm is also the size of the 09+ CTS-V's so aftermarket wheel selection should be astronomical.

The kits will come with 2 front hubs and 2 rear hubs. It will be the customers responsibility to supply the brake rotors.

The price of a hub kit is $1200 without a parking brake. Add $350 if a parking brake is desired.

We are all interested in saving money. I am willing to do a mini group buy if we can get 5 guys to commit to $1050 for a kit. If I do 5 kits at one time I only have to set-up once for the machine work, saves me time= saves you money.

I know there are questions, so let 'em fly.

I am glad that someone has finally took this on that has the resources to make it happen. Will probably be long time in order for me to afford them though. I understand there has to be money though. $1550 for , $300+ for rotors, and $500 for some old oem vette wheels or sky is intended limit for aftermarket wheel prices. Minimum of $2350 plus labor for aftermarket wheel support. It's kinda worth it but kinda sucks to have that much in it just for wheels lol.

This won't be nearly as painful once my hubs and rotors are about shot...maybe I should bend a wheel or two to help push this along.....

How will your hubs differ from the Timken 513139/512153 Hubs that others have used to do the 5-Lug conversion?

The real question is what happens 10 years down the road when somebody sells the car with this kit and a wheel bearing goes out? They are going to get a hub and it's not going to match and then they'll have to sell the 5x120 wheels and rotors and replace them with stock stuff because nobody will have a clue where to get those custom machined hubs. I hate to say it but I think the safest way to do this would be to some how do it with off the shelf hubs. Anything custom needs to be a non wear item.

Just can just call up Creative Steel and get a new one! I get what you are saying though, I've had 2 wheel bearings replaced.

How is that the real question? You down with OPP?! (second P in this case being problems) Not my problem, hands washed.

Ok, will creative steel be around in ten years when you need to replace one of their custom hubs?

I'll say it again. Any custom parts need to be non wear items. Does that not make sense to anybody else but me?

Take old hub and new hub to machine shop? I see the argument with a sole source supplier but Max is using a high quality off the shelf hub for longevity.

I could make the same argument if DSS is out of business 10years from now and I snap an axle.

***Edit***
I'll add to that...there were no replacement OEM steering racks available in the world apparently when I needed a replacement. The only service available was to have it built or cannibalize one from another V1.
