Default My 05 CTS V dynod need some input

Just had the caddy dynod today...personally i was hoping over 400 wheel hp but i ended up with 378. Here is the mod list:

LS6 base, 1-3/4 kooks long tubes, K&N cold air, no cats, magnaflow catback, HP tuners, VRX-4 cam, BTR .660 dual valve springs, VR 5/16 hardened push-rods, milling hv oil pump, upgraded trunion rockers, C5R timing chain

I had code for random multiple misfire when i got home. I ordered new magnecor wires when i arrived home. Only thing i can think is the timing may be off :s.

But if it was wouldn't i be setting a code and running like a bag?

Are these numbers normal or should i be making more with my supporting mods?

SAE or STD correction?

Looking at the specs on the cam you might be a little low, but I don't think you'll see 400. Our cars just don't make the hp the Vette's and F-Body's make.

Here is CTSVBiggie's dyno, his cam was spec'ed by EPS. I don't know the specs, but I would think it matches his combo more than an off the shelf cam. His is also a 6.0L and has the 1 7/8 headers. If he didn't crack 400, I wouldn't expect a VRX-4 to do so either. Just my opinion.

Here is bmylez' dyno, he has a 6.0L and a Torquer V2 cam which is larger than a VRX-4. He also has a ported intake. SAE correction would be ~404hp.

Find the situation causing the misfires before you get too down about the dyno. Its just a tool to tune with its not the end all be all yard stick of performance. You can get misfires for anything. Spark issues, if your fueling or MAF tables are off, timing. Bad plugs or wires. Hotter far away is the tuner? He might be able to log it and better determine the cause of the misfires

That is true. I ordered the wires so I hope it fixes it. I haven't informed the tuner yet I will monday and go from there. And I'm from Niagara Falls, tuners in Toronto so 1.5 hour drive not to bad, but if there was any problems he said he would data log it to me

Yea that's why I actually bought the HP tuners stuff. That way if I have an issue I can datalog it and then email it to my tuner. So much easier than trying to explain how the car does something while I'm driving, jerking off, and choking myself st the same time... Just send a log in and ask dafuq is dis? Lol

Not to take this off topic, but do you have some wide open pulls that you've datalogged and wouldn't mind sharing? I'm curious to see what your MAF is doing near redline. I'm seeing a roughly flat trend from 6000-6750, which seems strange to me. Perhaps I've exceeded the capabilities of the stock airbox?

I can log some today on the way to work. I'm currently untuned. Haven't had the time to do it or get it done. But I'll post up some numbers. I'm not sure where you took it or how good of a tuner they are. But many guys will short cut it. I'm not trying to talk **** about your tuner or anything. But if its intentional or not, sometimes things are overlooked. Jlits very easy to do because the stuff, to me, is pretty technical. And not to mention if you start a table with the wrong value, it will skew the rest of the table and make it worse as the rpm and load increase.

Sorry I though you were the op for a sec infrarev... I believe that the flat line you are seeing could be the computer getting ready to hit the redline for you. Like I said mine is still stock tune so I'll get it up there as good as I can and post an attachment.

the V1 has about a 18-19% drivetrain loss... it took me milled cnc heads with really high compression and a straight vp100 tune to get to 441, and that was a glory pull... hot it was 431. people with similar setups to my current one make almost 40 more rwhp

You should be right around 400rwhp with that setup. I made 400 on the nose with a similar cam.

Thats not asking for a lot or nothing! There are only a few of us even running the CF shaft. Not sure how many, but I know it is not a bunch. I would like to see before and after 8.8 results though. To which I don't think they will be far off. It is not a 9", and a properly setup 8.8 does not take a lot of power to turn. The drive shaft I'd imagine have little to no effect on the numbers.

A** to Mouth? lol I know what you meant but that is what I will forever read when I see atm. So I think about that a lot with all the Texas A&M alum around me with their stickers on their cars.

I'd double check the dyno or your intake I'm putting almost 400 wheel ls2 intake headers exhaust and tune ls2 but my ls6 v made 370 wheel with intake and headers and exhaust

You made good numbers for a stock engine with bolt-ons.

What plugs you running? I run NGK two ground plugs. in 5 heat range for my stock truck engine and 6 for my 625hp monster...

I'd say you should be 390 or so. I made 370RWHP 366TQ on a Dynojet.

Pacesetter Headers. Magnaflow Catback. Lingenfelter Filter. Tune. On shitty CA 91 Octane.

Seems low for the mods, I'm right at 360/360 with an intake and tune on a dynojet, nothing else except for x-pipe and mufflers.
