Default Shifter issue?

I have a Katech Short throw shifter and after putting the car back on the road for this season I noticed that the shifter doesn't center itself when moving it left to right in neutral. Is this normal? I don't recall it doing this before.

Thanks.

Def not normal. Either something is too tight or something started to rust/set up on you.

let me clarify a bit better. If I move it all the way left and right it springs back. But in the center position it has 1-2" of "slop" with no spring back. Is that normal? Or should I replace a specific bushing or cup.

I think my OEM shifter did that. The one Brian made is perfect.

Almost sounds like the isolator bushing in the trans or the shift ball cup is worn. Or a combination of both. Could also be busted bushing where the shift linkage attaches to the shifter.

busted plastic shifter bushings. Get a set from Brian. While possible bushings further upstream could also be at fault, the shifter bushings are the most likely culprit.
