Anything to worry about for just buying the lines off eBay? Bought some for my mustang when I went to cobra brakes and spent like $40 and they worked fine but I wonder if anything bad could come of cheap lines?

Kore3 has lines for like $60 and they are great quality. i just did V1 calipers w/ 2010 SS rotors on my bird and used their lines, very happy with them.

At least look into the 2 piece carbon Z28 setup...

I will look into it, but i still have to buy calipers and rotors. The calipers have special pistons as not to transfer too much heat back to the brake fluid.

"To fully exploit their grip, the Z/28 also features Brembo Carbon Ceramic Matrix™ rotors and fixed, monoblock calipers. The large 394 x 36 mm front rotors are paired with six-piston calipers, while the 390 x 32 mm rear rotors are paired four-piston calipers. Compared to similar-size, two-piece steel rotors, the lightweight carbon discs save 21 pounds (9.6 kg) per car."

Lets see what Luke can pull out of his hat for me...

Any chance you could get the vin from one in a showroom? Or you think they'll check into it?

I receieved an answer from brembo

You are going to have to call your local GM dealer for the pricing. Because the vehicle manufacturer includes exclusivity rights in their contract, Brembo will then make subtle little changes in replacement parts used so other Brembo divisions, like ours, cannot infringe or undercut the dealer’s replacement parts business. That brake system is only available through GM. We do not have access to them.

We have a completely different carbon ceramic disc that is called the CCMR, Carbon Ceramic Matrix Race. These discs are a combination of everyday CCM (like the Camaro) and Formula 1 carbon/carbon. Much tougher and durable disc that will last 4 times longer in a track environment. Much more expensive too. Typical Gran Turismo brake system using the CCMR rotors has a suggested retail price of $32,990.

I added all the numbers and if i went with gm it would be 22,400ish in rotors and pads to match brembo...so it would be 10,000 for the calipers in my case...hmmm 7,900 gm plus 22,400 or 32,990 brembo...

Those are ridiculous # for a non-dedicated track car.

These brakes might actually suck until you get them racing hot....

It'll feel the same as the brakes you have now, the stock brakes are better than the street tires most of us are using. What the OP is paying for is durability and fade resistance.

Yeah those could be beat on lap after lap. I just figured with diameter and the calipers that there would be some serious bite when warmed up on track compound tires.

Researchin the vette calipers has the fronts needin an adapter but the rear caliper bolt pattern is off by 1/4".

Will talk exclusively with brembo for the calipers and try to retro fit the gm ccm rotors....this way i get the correct calipers and just swap the rotors out when they go bad...
