Default The best thing you could do to your V1

Guys,

I have recently figured out the absolute best thing you could ever do to your V1. For months now, I have pondered on how to make the car launch better, run faster in the 1/4 and overall be a more comfortable riding car while still being sporty.

A lot of you guys have suggested an 8.8 kit, heads & cam or even a supercharger but I knew that there had to be a better solution. What is this fantastic, too good to be true solution?..........

TRADE IT!!!!!!!!!!

Best thing ever for a V1... Good Bye clunky rear, crappy shifter, bland interior, horrible 60's and embarrassing 1/4 mile times for extremely modified cars.

Say hello to true luxury, amazing interior, factory blue tooth & ipod connections, 1.5 60's on stock drive train, 6 speed auto and a whole lot more.

I was never truly happy with my V1 for the 7 months I have owned it and wish I would have just bought a V2 in the first place instead of lying to myself that it can be "just as good". So this is my farewell V1 community, I'm off the the other forum where the guys seem great and vendors are plentiful.

Few pictures:

The V2 interior feels more cramped than my Chevy Cruze for some reason. I just cannot get over the claustrophobic feeling in the V2.

You know what they say...if you can't build it, buy it!

I do love the V2 interior, and maybe I'm kidding myself but I still prefer the lines of my V1.

yeh you can't even sit in the rear of a V2 unless you're a midget... i drove the V2 coupe and sedan on road atlanta and much prefer the V1 on a road course... V2 is too heavy

Nice car dude. You realize though... You are still trapped in mod hell... Its a Chevy mower with a blower. You can't help but sup it up

Um auto… ok you can have many options with 4 doors.

Seems with early V's is how beat or not you get them. I'm reading about shakes and tough shifting, but I'm not dealing with this. My problem is the guy didn't take great care of the paint. Good luck with V2. Would like one (only stick), but V1 is paid for and only needs a few mods.

Also, can afford it but don't see the need right now.

Not hatin at all. Finances are not the issue for me (as in most cases I would assume). After I sold my Maggie and got disenchanted with my turbo build bc of the jackasses at Comp turbo had **** poor service, I almost bought a 2012 with 9k miles from Lindsay Cadillac. Same color inside and out with the 6L90 auto. I just did not like the car as much. The gauges are a step back, the mirrors are hideous, the interior is nice but feels much smaller than the V1 for some reason. It was a good price at the time ($47k) but just could not justify the V2 knowing that I could ultimately be happier making my V1 what I wanted it to be.

Smartassing aside, congrats on the purchase! The V2 does look more menacing and the LSA is no joke, I just can't bring myself to "upgrade".

Congrats! I guess what it comes down to is... if you like to sit back and mash the go pedal, with a priority on 1/4 mile times - the obvious choice is the V2.

For a drivers car I'll stick with my V1 (and $183 payment), while saving up for a C7 someday!

Thanks for the congrats guys.

The 6l90e is an awesome transmission so far and is great in all driving conditions so far.

The v2 is definitely a bit heavier but feel like it has more grip than the v1

As far as handling on a road course, the v2 was 20 seconds quicker around the Nuremberg than the v1 which made it the fastest production 4 door at the time (in 09)

Are you more into drags or road courses? A lot of the ones I've seen at Fontana here, which is a very high speed track, are manuals. There are still quite a few autos though. I like the V2 as an all around car. But it didn't want to eat top ramen for the rest of my loan term so I went V1. At Fontana's road course you jump on the NASCAR front straight, the real fast cars see 180+. D3 has a V1 that is a total monster. I'm sure it gets close to 200 on that straight with all the down force they run in the front and rear aero.

Go start tuning that beast up. Can it and pulley it down a bit. Ppppoooooowwwwaaaa

But how fast is it around the Nürburgring? No one really cares about fast the cars are around city streets like you find in Nuremberg.

I'd love a v2, I think they're amazing all-around machines. Are the interiors really smaller than the v1?

Congrats on he pick up!

Congrats. But not really a fair comparison. Of course its a better car in every way because they learned from the mistakes they made on the V1. Remember there wouldn't be a V2 if there wasn't a V1. Both have their pluses and minuses. The V3 is going to put the V2 to shame. Looking forward to seeing a lighter car with more power better brakes and better suspension. Hell the Vsport performs better than my V1. My ATS makes my V1 feel like im driving a tank but I still love it.

The recaros make you feel a bit more cramped until you get them adjusted right. Then the interior feels perfect. The coupe is smaller/tighter feeling due to the bucket seats in the back.

Congrats!

I'd do the same thing if I could just find the perfect manual trans, non-modded, super-low-mile(under 25K depending on the year), NOT Black V2 Sedan with Recaro's, Nav, and NO sunroof! At the right price as well.

Seems to be a needle in a haystack...

Congrats on the V2. I love my V1 but I do look forward to picking up a V2 in a couple years for one very specific reason.....
