Default Stock '05 throwing codes p1125 and p2121, what to do?

So on my way to work this morning, my car dropped to near idle while accelerating, and lights started blowing up on the dash (t/c off, cel, reduced power mode, etc).

I limped it on back home and pulled a P1125 code and P2121 code before having to get to work. I searched here and other sites and didn't find anything too useful. Anyone got any ideas?

I'll check all the connections when I get home, but is it likely my TPS or pedal position sensor went bad? Or could my TAC module just **** the bed for no reason?

I would start by listing what you found out those codes were from your research. Or what the scanner said the codes were even. Can't help if I don't know the issue, with out of course doing the research myself.

Found this google searching for the P1125.

The code comes up as the accelerator pedal position sensor.

Sorry, per http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/dtccode.html

P1125 - Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) System
P2121 - Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 1 Performance

Thought I read something about the TPS also, but I guess I am just going crazy.

Thanks for the link, 05CTSV.

Well, you're welcome to test the TPS sensor if you like. Its fairly easy and a youtube video can teach you how. But I would do the same test on the throttle pedal, as everything points to it. I have seen it go bad several times on fly-by-wire vehicles. You can check for damaged wires under the dash as I have seen that happen once before too.

Alright, didn't have much time to look at the pedal assembly before going out of town, but has anyone ever troubleshot theirs before?

Following the link 05CTSV posted, it states a 0% throttle resistance of 5.04kΩ and a 100% resistance of around 3kΩ. However, that guide is specifically for the throttle pedal in GM trucks.

I am getting 3.9kΩ at 0% and 1.9kΩ at 100%. The change across the sensor range appears to be pretty linear.

Anyone know if the sensor is the same across the GM line? I'd check against my truck to make sure that the troubleshooting guide is correct, but its not drive-by-wire.

I haven't had time yet to check if I am getting voltage to the sensor or that my ground is good.
