Default Shifter cup bushing orientation?

Swapping back to stock, anybody know if the cup should be oriented so the shifter sticks further through the bottom of the car, or so it protrudes less through the bottom?

Are you talking about the white nylon collar?
If so it goes on the bottom side of the "ball" towards the driveshaft.

LOL, no Nik, just the shifter! I finally have the procharger running right (fingers crossed).

So the cup should be oriented in the way that the stalk will stick less through the floorboard, is that what I hear you saying?

Correct. Look at page 5 of the PDF below.

It won't matter which way you orient it with the stock shifter. The 'correct' orientation from the factory puts the shifter lower (towards) the driveshaft. The stock shifter **** height is pretty tall. I would put it so the notched out area of the cup is up. This will lower the height by 3/16".
