Not sure what happened to my key fob but I picked it up earlier and noticed that it had split across the top, it easily popped open and there's a liquid on the microchip. The actual battery looks fine though and didn't bust.

I've found remotes with the same part #'s online which I assume work, even though they all say they don't fit the base CTS or V. Any recommendations on where to purchase a new one and if I can reprogram this on my own or is it a dealer job? Thanks.

Does the Keyfob still work? If so then buy a replacement cover. If not, buy a used one on ebay and I think it needs flashing from the dealership

yep, a new one would need reflashing from the dealer; just had it done....
