Laser Jammer Installation location
Has anyone installed any laser jammers such as a Laser Interceptor system or an escort 9500ci? The only person i found was fuzzylogic and his pictures were expired. I am thinking about the 3 locations below, but the front end of our cars isn't ideal for the sensors, they all look kinda ugly. ha. Let me know your feedback.

I have the built-in K40 system on my dd '12 Ram 2500. I put a mesh grille in it & have them behind it attached to the intercooler. Know for a fact they work great. Going off your pic I'd locate them on either the orange or yellow lines as LEOs are trained to aim for the license plate (I see you don't have one, but the radiator is still metal/reflective).

My front 9500ci laser shifters are screwed into the underside of the plastic deck, above your yellow marks. The radar receiver is installed below the Cadillac emblem--holes drilled into the aluminum bumper reinforcement. I used 3M double-sided tape to affix the GPS receiver to the top of the radar receiver--it never loses reception in this location. The rear laser shifter is installed above the license plate--there are numerous options for getting your power and signal wiring to that location.
They're essentially invisible.

Hey Fuzzy mind sharing some photos, like old times? Do these things work? I use to have an escort in my heads and cam ws6 that was suctioned to the windshield. If I ever did a 1-2 shift, the 315 mickey thompsons and 4.11 gears in the rear would kindly relocate that radar detector and move it to the back seat....so I gave the damn thing away as I think it was broken after awhile of abuse haha.
Nowadays there are some pretty trick gadgets for cars, so I assume the Radar / Laser interceptors have also advanced.

Ok so It seems the consensus is that the yellow place is best. Do you think its necessary to knock out a little bit of the mesh in front of the actual receiver/diode to be the most effective or is it fine behind the grill? I have had a qi45 (identical to 8500ci) for awhile with the sensor in the same spot under the cadillac emblem and have had few laser alarms go off, so I'm wondering if it is blocked.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Modern laser jammers work extremely well. Don't bother with the 9500ci--the build that we're discussing is out of date. The only thing that's relevant about my old installation are its sensor/jammer locations. The primo solution these days is a STI-R Plus core unit with a Laser Interceptor Triple or Quad -OR- a 3-4 head AntiLaser Priority. The performance of both brands is approximately equal (note: JTG = jam to gun).
The AntiLaser system is more forward-thinking, at least as far as software is concerned. For instance, the AL Priority offers iPhone and Android application controls. Beltronics/Escort stuff still use a primitive, buggy software suite that runs your USB connection through RS-232 to the head unit. Both setups are going to run you about $2000, unless you go hunting for deals on eBay. The thing that I really want to contribute to this subject is a set of CTS-V protective cases and brackets, because when you mount this stuff outside, the delicate plastic lenses get wrecked by FOD (even small things, like bugs) really fast.

Awesome info thx fuzzy. Didn't know of your photobucket. I know about your forum obviously. I find myself between three to four forums all of which have their pros and con's. I wish it was all just one platform that mixed all the threads from each forum together into one V forum. But for now I suppose I'll poke around between them all.
2000$ ??? That's nuts to spend on that IMO.

I wish I wouldve known about the AL system before. I was going to run a 9500ci and LI system but it would be nice to have just one integrated for less than $1500. I recently got a ticket in another state (another car too, no detector) and it is costing me about $550 with lawyer fees since I cant represent myself. Still beats a raise in insurance though...

Here's my post from CTSV forum
Decided to add a K40 360i radar detector system with jammers. Josh aka LSPWRD did the install, guy does AMAZING work. His attention to detail is incredible.
Leds's added to the cluster pod. Speaker at the LF kick panel. Front radar detector sensor just to the left (drivers side) of the Cadillac emblem in the front grill. Rear radar detector sensor up under the rear bumper cover. A ttoal of four jammers installed. Front two in the lower mesh section on the fog light / brake duct bezels. Added a fourth jammer to the kit (only comes with three) to balance out the rear. We decided to remove the rear red reflectors from the lower valance just above the tail pipe tips. We cut the centers out, filed the edges and mounted a rear jammer in each.

Wait, your radar works behind the metal mesh? Has it affected any sensitivity? I was concerned it wouldn't get diminished behind the grill. I'm fairly positive it does. Will research it later.
Here is where I installed my STi-R+ receiver. Right next to the PCM (ECU? whatever it's called, I forget), underneath the bumper support, you can see the cable dangling from it:
