A vented CF hood would be great. As for 'cowl' designs, something that doesn't go all the way foward like the V2 stock hood would look awesome as well.

I would actually prefer something like the V2 hood, only with a vent somewhat like the ZL1 to aid in heat extraction. My reasoning for beginning the cowl so far forward (as on the V2) is that it would provide much needed clearance for those who wish to supercharge or turbo their V. With my E-Force, I had to cut the reinforcement under the hood and the throttle body is almost touching the sheet metal for the hood.
I'd also be in for a front bumper cover modified for the V2 lower inlet as already done by another forum member.

Quik Z06 I'll P.M you but since I started the thread I'm 99% sure I'd be willing to donate my hood. I want to get all the details first. I have a friend with that hood on his C6. I'm not sure of the exact design the majority of V owners will want but we can work that out.

Nice job Z06!
While I like the thought of a complete hood, they're expensive, hard to ship and, if not done perfectly, can be a nightmare to fit, need a differently weighted lift cylinder and tend to give up at the hinge mounting areas as the years go by...ask me how I know this.
Many old school musclecars used bolt on scoops/bulges that looked good enough. If you're going to the car show, maybe not, but for a street car, a bolt-on option painted to match the car could be a good long term solution. The late 70's Z28 was a good example of this and while I'm not saying I like the style of this scoop for the CTS-V, a bolt on option that was studded like this and designed specifically for this car could work for some of us.

We can all chip in and have you buy a regular cts hood at certif or partschannel that way no need for some one to be without the hood and deal with shipping. I would love something like a v2 hood.

Thanks guys, sorry for all the pics, but this just give you an idea of the work I can get done. To give you guys an idea if I get a hood made don't worry about it being expensive. I mean I don't have a price on this obviously but to give you an idea, I sell my carbon Vette hoods for $650 + shipping. I'll speak to manufacturing and see what they think about starting this ASAP.
And to give you guys an idea what we do, here is a C6/C7 conversion we are doing

While the ZL1 hood looks pretty good and should function well on most cars, the hottest location in our engine bay seems to be near the firewall above the exhaust manifolds/headers (someone correct me if I am wrong). In that case I would think vents in the extreme composites location would be more efficient.

Same situation and heatsoak is a huge issue. It is bad enough I will take the plunge on making my own if this doesn't come through.
