SHUSH!! haha dont drive the price up...( im sure your hood is beautiful)

This thread/poll may never end. Quick Z06 is stepping up and offering a great deal, a one off V1 hood option based on the community choice.

Not everyone will agree but I think Z06 needs to have some community confirmation / direction on how to design this hood.

We all want a good hood and they want to provide us a quality hood and make some money.

Suggestions on compiling this ^............. blabbing into forward progress, help.. I have stated what I am looking for in a new hood.

Lol, no worries, I'm not looking to make a killing on these. Obviously getting them made involves money for molds etc, but no worries. Ok for the cowl hood how big of a cowl do you guys want? Or do you guys want both hoods we make to have cowls? I know a lot of the Vette guys have wanted just vented and no big cowls recently.

I am firm in the belief the community would benefit from a hood with a V2 style cowl with and without vents. There is sufficient demand for this style (Indicated by the poll) as there is nothing like it offered. Additionally, there will be absolutely no itellectual property suits brought to the table for recreating an already existing and available design; regardless of price point.

I am still at a complete loss as to why there are people willing to squander this opportunity on existing designs that are currently available. If you like it, go buy the damn thing. Leave the opportunity to actually bring something new to the market for others who wish to have it. And most importantly, don't risk legal troubles for the guy who's willing to help everyone here for pennies.

To move this process along, we should name the intakes and blowers we are interested in, and start from there.

As for size we need to measure the space required to fit the tall intakes and twin screws, and design the hoods to fit them comfortably. This may take some collaboration within the community to settle on the number. That requirement is what is driving a lot of this conversation. Given #4 & #7 are the leaders, and vented is more popular than un-vented, I would prefer those two styles in vented form.

**HOWEVER** If we find that the existing solution in #7 style already has the clearance needed, then that option is probably irrelevant to some people... Although the fact that it isn't available in carbon is still a differentiator, IMO. To be honest, I can't visualize any version of #4 looking good on a V1... But I may just not have the vision to see it.

The Extreme Composites hood (#6 & #7) do not add sufficient clearance. I believe it's only an inch or two more than stock.

I don't know what happened with this build. I'm not sure if the owner is on the forums. But from the pictures Martin posted, you can get an idea of what clearance is like.

holley has a diagram of the specs online 12.44 at the peak and that is right around the neck which sucks as that's the low point of the hood

If we are settled on the #4 hood, we do also need to provide measurements for where the cowling should begin and cowling width. The EForce kit causes clearance issues for the throttle body and front corners of the blowers. If the cowling starts too far back and/or the cowling is too narrow this hood won't help. I know everyone is not running an EForce but most who are have expressed interest in this hood.

As far as cowl height what neighborhood are most of you guys interested in? 4" in front sloping to 2.5"-3" in the rear?

I think it would probably have to be almost higher than 4 inch cowl in the front. The high rise and/or big blower some guys want to run would interfere with the front.

I'm not the person doing the hoods, Quik Z06 is. I'm just trying to get the ball rolling.
