Default V1 suspension question

So the suspension is about the only thing still stock on my V1. My wife absolutely Hates riding in the car because she says it's too rough. What options are available with comfort being priority. I don't track the car and understand performance is typically sacrificed for ride quality.

You could go with a kw v3 coil over setup. Just run them stock height and adjust the dampeners nice and soft

Your wife thinks a stock V suspension is too rough? I suspect a worn or broken component, possible FG2 shock setup, or imminent divorce.

Yeah, sorry to break it to you, but factory dampers are super comfy. If your wife can't handle it, like said above, something is broken or she might be too sensitive...

What kind of tires are you running? Mine was stiff as a board with the Goodyear whatever they were on it.

Dude... You guys are missing the point... The wife doesn't like the ride... He's got a green light to improve the ride with some coil overs or something. Take advantage

Nitto 555 275/40 on rear and not sure on the front I'll have to check.

Granted I was coming from worn out 115k mile, 30+ track day FE4s, but my LG Motorsports coilovers ride much better on the street. These are the only two suspension setups I have any experience with though.

As long as it rides better with the new suspension the wifey will be happy. God help your wallet if it doesn't you'll be buying new living room furniture or some such mess.

Good luck!

I vote new wife AND new suspension .

Seriously though, these cars do ride firm, but very comfy to me and my girl. My upgraded suspension (k-sport) is slightly firmer but also smoother since everything is new and crisp if that makes sense.

Once the front factory shocks blew when I used ground control coilovers only, it rode horribly. I dont have any experience with anything other than GC, K-sport and stock though

The answer is obvious. Get her a crappy car. My wife drives an 03 Corolla and just loves how solid my car rides.

I'm on Ground Controls and the only thing my wife complains about is how much it shakes from CS mounts + cam and how bad it smells, haha.

Way cheaper to keep the wife. Besides that I married way over my head and no way to upgrade there, I'll just upgrade the suspension lol.

This! Don't think it'll happen though. Hers is much nicer (bimmer) and that's probably the problem.

Oh and yes the smell (catless exhaust)...that's her other complaint lol.

The 555 ride hard. Go to the hankook v12. Will be mor compliant. They also did better in all aspects of performance if I remember correctly.

the rear shocks will pump up and stiffen the ride in the back even without lowering the car (depending on what you have in the trunk, passengers etc.)

Whoops. Never get your wife a nicer car than you. (Unless she bought it, then get her to buy you one too).

As far as smells, have you tried strategic flatulence? The key to complaining wives is to give them something to really complain about. I learned that from my parents when I was being a crybaby.

And just for the record, I don't make my wife drive the Corolla, she just won't let me replace her car. Her grandmother is getting rid of an 08 accord, fully loaded, leather, nav, and all, with 40k on it but she won't budge from that damn Corolla. It belonged to her other grandma (both are still alive but neither are capable of driving themselves safely anymore) and we got it with 23k on it. Probably only has 60k on it after 4-5 yrs and is a solid reliable ride, but it just feels so cheap. And I drive a GM, I know what cheap feels like lol. Frugal wife, frugal life.
