Default Blew a Fuse - Rear View Mirror

Was trying to hardwire my V1 today to my 05 V. My friend who is an electrician was helping me out and told me to only use the Red and Black wires for Positive and Negative respectively. We were wiring it into my rear view mirror wires.

Long story short, he had to go and I was left to my own devices. I wired it all up, and thought I was ready to go...then it didnt work. I figured I had fouled something up so i went to just cut both of the wires I spliced in but forgot to turn the car off. I saw the wires spark just slightly meaning power was running through it, and now my "Passenger airbag is ___" no longer lights up.

Two things I learned after further reading

1 - Not all electricians are created equal, the black wire is not the ground, its actually the green wire. (please tell me im right about this, read http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/v1install.html to figure that out)

2 - I most likely blew a fuse, and have no idea which one it is.

I went through the manual and found a lot of things close, but no cigar. Can anybody help me out with two things, 1 - Is the Green wire the proper ground wire (and red is power) 2 - Did I blow a fuse and if yes, which one do I need to replace?!

IIRC the fuse is under the back seat. I forget which but I blew the same fuse when wiring my Beltronics to the sunroof control.

Haha - Amazing! (now just gotta figure out which one...if you saw a pic of it, would you be able to remember? am I better just going through the fuses to see which one is dead?

Also - There are spares already put away in the fuse boxes right?

It's a 10amp but there's a lot of 10amps under there. You'll find it.

Rule of thumb never cut multiple wires at a time. 12v is nothing. Fuses are in place to protect the circuit so if it popped it's ok. Fix the wires and replace fuse.

If you don't find the blown fuse under the back seat, the fuse box in the engine bay would be your last stop. I remember digging under the seat for this fuse though. I could be wrong.

Yep, take off the bottom back seat and pull the fuse covers. Look under the cover and see which one says rearview or similiar.
