Default What do you guys suggest for spark plugs?

I probably wont get to it until the spring comes around, but I have no idea when my 06's plugs have been changed last. With 90k on it, I'm sure it could use a set. It's a daily driver, all seasons (including harsh winters), and it's basically in it's stock form besides a few little things here and there. So, what would you suggest for plugs, and why? I remember with my previous car that I went with plugs "two stages colder" than OEM. Any reason to look that route for this application?

Running colder plugs on a stock or bolt-on application is plain dumb. Colder plugs are for forced induction, typically.

For the record, the most recent thread was nearly a year old. Just seeing if there were any new and improved plugs out there.

Seems to be some mixed info on NGK versus AC Delco. I've seen more than one dyno graph (through my Google-ing) showing anywhere from 5 to 8 rwhp losses/gains from certain plugs. Gains were shown with AC Delco's versus pulls with NGK's. Gaps verified to be correct and part numbers also correct. Seems outlandish, but I'm interested anyway.

Not sure how you would have gains with AC Delco as they are stock?

How I understood it was that the "gains" were when compared to the (apparently) inferior plugs. Like I said, in don't know if I trust the info but its still interesting.

There's no power to be had with any other plug when you're stock or bolt-on. Stock is good.

That's what I was leaning toward. Through my Google-ing I've seen that lots of LS folks over the years seem to be partial to the NGK TR55's and/or TR6's, which was what made me question my decision to go with OEM. I really wasn't considering going a colder range plug or anything with my current application.

I wish I could remember exactly what terms I searched because I can't find all of the threads I've read on these horsepower gains/losses. I did manage to re-find one of 'em though: http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...gs-for-c6.html

Now I'm onto reading about all the marketing BS behind plug wires...

Now this would have been an intelligent way to start a thread if you had added which "certain plugs" you were talking about. In the interest of trying to learn something here, what are they?

Instead of asking us to regurgitate what you already learned, why not share with us what little you do know....shouldn't take long.

NGK 4302

cant go wrong with NGK, its double grounded for better ignition. Its Laser Platinum, so better mileage

I use these in my tahoe and boat. I use 3452 in my 6.8ltr engine, one step colder but same design...

I use a third type in my bikes and i have less misfires, and more bottom end torque and faster revs...
