Default Line lock

Who's done a line lock on a V1? Mines an 04. I've read about lots of issues. I plan on putting it between the master and abs unit. Only info I could find is the abs will bypass the fluid allowing the brakes to release. So couldn't I just pull the fuse before I use it at the track?

Why don't you install it after the ABS module? I'd imagine either way you are going to get faults in the system if you don't pull the pump fuse.

Because one line runs from the master cylinder into the abs unit, then two lines run out, one to each wheel. I'd rather not have to use two solenoids as I have one here already.

Well can't do what I wanted. Was thinking our cars master cylinder used one half for front and one half for rear brakes but it used a cross diagonal setup. Dammit

I've looked into this, you will have to wire two separate solenoids, one switch, one solenoid on left front and one on right front. You would step on the brakes, hit the switch, the release brakes, freeing rear wheels and keeping pressure on the front brakes. hypothetically you could hook them up in the rear as well, which essentially would prevent the brake fluid pressure from reaching the rear wheels. I'm sure you'd set abs/ traction lights however you do it. I decided against it because of the rear end and I tend to run stickier (expensive) tires.

Put them in this weekend. There was a perfect spot on both sides. Just cut and flared the existing lines. No abs light or anything when using it. Pic is the passenger side.

Looks good. That's where I would have put them. Now I'm curious how long your diff holds up to all these upcoming smoke shows

I work at a garage so we have a pressure bleeder and scan tools for abs bleeding. So it was no problem.

But I did try manual bleeding first and couldn't get any flow happening. I removed one line at the abs pump to cut and flare it easier so I did loose a lot of fluid.

Think line lock will work holding just one tire?

Yup. Got that. I'm wondering if you need both wheels to hold, or if one would suffice. Savvy?

Oh. That just sounds dangerous. Thought you were trolling. Carry on.
