Default Heads, cam, and E-force build

Plans right now are to do he following:

-A set of PRC Stage 1 6.0L CNC Ported Heads (317 casting) w/ PRC dual springs & Ti retainers
-LS9 headgaskets
-Recommended cam for supercharger setup (daily driven)
-LS7 lifters
-Upgraded pushrods
-Trunion upgrade for rockers
-E-force setup with LS2 style TB (size?)
-What MAF setup to use?
-probably replace the timing chain/gears and oil pump while I have it apart.
-fuel system will get addressed at the same time and I'm sure the clutch shortly after...

Any recommendations?

What are my options for a throttle body?

Also what exactly about the ls6 valley cover interferes with the e-force? The vent tube?

Yes. The unfortunate thing is this means you lose the oil separator. Get a good catch can.

RX catch can is the best by far for catch cans.

Cam, i would recommend either GT9 or LS7

both cams are calm for traffic, but the GT9 will give you more ultimately all over...

You can use the standard LS1, LQ4/9, or LM7 valley cover. I would take it to machine shop and have it shaved down a bit and you'll have to drill/countersink the valley for the flush bolts. Also, use anti seize on the valley bolts as the inverted hex strips out very easily.

Your lone choice for a throttle body is an LS2 unit. The LS3 and later LS7 articulate in the opposite direction and will wreak havoc on the PCM unless you zero out every throttle body DTC, which is a really bad idea.

Get a brand new throttle body from GM, there have been quite a few people that have been screwed over for a few hundred $ in their attempt to save $100 or less.

They both idle great, offer a smooth power curve, and behave well in stop and go situations.

Its a decent recommendation for those looking for a daily driver.

I wouldnt go with either of those cams either.......you have already spoken to Brian Tooley who would be one of the best guys out there to spec a cam for you.

2750 for a full 8.8 upgrade? I'd like to see your itemized list. I sourced my own diff, and if I were to buy the CS bracket/axle kit, plus having the diff rebuilt properly, I'd be at ~3400. Are you just gonna throw a used diff in there?

Going from memory on the 8.8 kit, Black Friday price on the kit, bought a new carrier, bearings, gears, used case.

Stock 150k mile bottom end. Will be building a new short block next winter if I haven't blown this one up by then, lol.

Man, I'd love to do 8.8 for 2750. That would make getting a gen4 diff in the $1000 range completely pointless. Haven't tons of LS6s been pushed to 550+whp? How much are you going for?

Kit was 2200 plus shipping, housing was 100 empty.

550-600 rwhp is the goal on this bottom end.

Waiting on parts to show up...

Small note: I just got done doing a lifter replacement this week and I noticed your power steering pump is just hangin out. The only thing holding it up is the power steering line. Not sure how healthy it is to support the weight. I leaned mine against the block, if you care.

Looking at almost $400 for a new throttle body which is I think 90mm? Any hp to be gained to just go ahead and get a nick Williams 102mm now? I've seen a few sell for $500 in the classifieds NIB.

There's no power to be had by going larger and you'll find that almost all of the larger aftermarket throttle bodies are based on the later LS3 models which are not compatible.

Keep in mind you're putting a 2.3 liter supercharger on a 5.7 liter engine; you're far from even scratching the surface of its capabilities.

Looks like you're off to a good start from the pics!
