Default Old exhaust

Swapped out my exhaust system with Stainless Works, love the sound. Was wondering what everyone did with their old exhaust? Is it worth trying to craigslist it or just cut it up and sell it for scrap metal? Thanks

Alot of the base guys like to buy the stock v exhaust. I'd try Craigslist or post it up on CF....I think I paid $200 for mine when I had the 3.6.

someone will probably buy it if you put it up for sale, whether it be a base guy or another V guy that's looking to cut it out and make their own exhaust.

I'd put it up on craigslist to see what kind of hits you get.

Yup. Regular CTS guys eat 'em up. Sold mine back in the day for $100. Probably go for more now.

Don't expect to get big bucks for it, but as scrap metal its value is only a couple bucks, so getting $100-200 for it from a V6 owner is pretty good. And that keeps it in the Caddy family.

The stock system is a quality piece. Its worth $250 all day long unless you're tripping over it and its got to go.

On second thought, you may want to hang onto them for a little while to make sure any drone from the SW exhaust is tolerable.

im going to run stock mufflers to keep the neighbors happy while my car warms up and stuff, right now it shakes the house.
and im going to add dual 3" boost actuated cut outs to make to more fun on the loud peddle.

i have been hoping a set would come up local to me but i havent seen any for some time now.
i threw my old stock mufflers away when i started my build.. lame

The stock mufflers work pretty good and with the side inlet, I haven't seen anything in the aftermarket like it.

I'll keep my eyes open. Good Luck

As he keeps his car while others have to find better suspension components (kicks dirty angrily)

Well this my full on after market exhaust system I have done, so I really don't know what drone sounds like. I usaly just do rebuilds and a muffler here and there. But so far it sounds greats, nice deep tone, don't here much in the cabin itself. Though they sent rtv to use as gaskets and I'm starting to smell some exhaust now, bought some gaskets to put in this weekend. All in all pretty impressed with SW

Drone are those low frequencies that bother you over time. Typically at highway cruise in 6th gear at lower rpms under load.

Aaah ok I know what your talking about, doesn't seem that bad to me. Though my radio is usually turned all the way up as well. Insulators could reduce that right?

Insulators could help. Especially considering our trunk floor has none. But that comes at the expense of extra weight. One could argue that the stock mufflers are heavier too, so it may even out but I doubt insulation alone would cure enough of the drone. It's pretty tough to combat without altering the exhaust.
