What rotors are you using (with what bolt pattern)?

Stock V1 wheels are 18x8.5" +42mm. It might be possible to fit a particularly spacious 17" wheel over the V1 brakes, but I've never seen it done. I say that because I know there are/were a couple/few 16" wheels that would clear the 330mm Mustang Cobra brakes with PBR sliding calipers. So, one could logically say that a 17" wheel - 25.4mm bigger - should be OK with the 355mm front rotor - 25mm bigger - on the V1, which used fixed calipers that typically don't extend as far beyond the outer diameter of the rotor as a sliding caliper. However, since wheel selection is so limited for the V1s (with the funky 6x115mm bolt pattern), there really aren't any 17" options to try out my theory. And, of course, the outer diameter is only part of the story when it comes to these brakes; you need to make sure you have sufficient spoke clearance, too.

I took these measurements off my car a few years ago. (The picture shows the rear brakes, hence the axle stub sticking out, but the measurements are actually from the front, as indicated by the label in the upper right. I was just too lazy to take the same picture for the front.) You could use these to measure whatever wheels you're considering.

Interesting. Probably worth asking the same question on the Mustang forums, too. Does someone sell a kit to do this, or are you coming up with this on your own?

How does the hat offset compare (the 18.5mm measurement in my picture)?

You could just force the wheel on. You'd be surprised how well wheels are able to self clearance themselves on calipers and trailing arms.

I would not put anything smaller than a 17" but check with wheel manufactures for proper sizing. You may have to buy custom wheels to suit your application.
