Lug nuts. Yes, seriously, lug nuts.
So a few years ago I picked up some replacement lug nuts. I forget from where. Amazon, maybe.
They suck. Rusted and flaked instantly, and they're evil to thread.
I found a few in the garage that were on the car when I bought it (just not 20 of them--each wheel was missing some), and they're awesome. I have no idea where they came from. Maybe they're OEM, even.
So...who do you guys like for lug nuts? I'm tired of screwing around with the crap ones.

McGard Spline Drives. They're the only lug nuts I've found that don't scratch, chip, or fade. The floating conical seat limits wear & tear to your wheels during tightening, which is relevant if you're removing your wheels frequently to do mods or clean them.
P/N for chrome finish and for black finish. The black finish was a perfect match for my piano black Forgestar F14s.

Agreed on the McGards, I have them on 3 of my 4 cars. I read somewhere that the black ones are black chrome, which would explain why the finish is so durable. With that said, McGard's website doesn't seem to say that anywhere, and Summit Racing says they're black anodized steel, so I dunno.

Been running them for over a year and lots of on and off with the wheels. Top of them is all you see and they are holding up. Some marks on the sides but they where cheap.

i run muteki and KICS. i don't do spline drive and the ones i have are actually a two piece design with an outer cap so that you don't screw up the finish on them when you're torquing them down.
not everyone wants to pay $130+ for a set of lug nuts, though...

Also, looks like I need to 5 lug swap so I can save a few dollars on lug nuts

Dude, that $1300 price is for people that can't do a couple of Google searches to find the correct GM part numbers. If you pay it, you're a fool.

the thing i like to avoid personally is aluminum lug nuts. they corrode to the steel studs, cross thread, strip, etc. i understand there's weight savings there and when you're really trying all the weight you can lose counts, but i stick with steel lug nuts because i just don't want the hassle of dealing with the side effects to aluminum ones.
for the 5 lug stuff...i personally wrote the write up to get it done. there's several ways you can attack it based on budget and stuff, but it can easily be completed for under $500 with some hubs and redrilling your rotors. i'd highly recommend anyone looking into it to look at the base CTS hubs versus vette/XLR hubs so that you can end up with 5x115 versus 5x4.75. then you can run 5x114.3 wheels which are way, way more popular than 5x120 or 5x4.75 will ever be. i wish before i did mine that i figured that out so i wouldn't be stuck with 5x120 wheels. oh well, maybe one day i'll redo the swap with the base hubs, but that means buying/selling more sets of wheels...

Where are you looking? I just checked on Summit and there are 20-packs of McGard Spline Drives in multiple colors (black, gold, chrome, blue cap, red cap). McGard's website also shows multiple options, either with or without wheel locks.
