Default Modified car insurance?

I was doing some searching today and I came across this company called Lant car insurance. I was looking into their modified car insurance and did a quick quote and it came out to like $378 to insure a modified 2002 camaro for the year as long as you have been insured for 10 years and have a 2nd car insured.

Come January I'll have been insured for 10 years, so I have been thinking of giving them a call to confirm what my online quote said is true...would make life extremely easy when it came to modifying the car and getting insurance.

I mean, even if they didn't insure my winter beater, and I had to get that insured through my current insurance company, taking away my multivehicle discount I would still be paying less

Just curious if anyone has experience with them?

The car has to be minimum 15 years old to qualify and there are a few use restrictions but yes it is a lot cheaper than regular insurance

Mine turns 15 soon, technically it is all ready.

Doubt it will lower my insurance as it is an agreed to value/modern collectible plan. I have all the documents showing it was one of 175 Forumla WS6s, one of 17 in white. I would like to know how many were Canadian, we had different speedos and DTRLs.

You have to sign waivers and all kinds of stuff.

I will look into Lant next year as well. I have Hagerty now.

15 for the classic, the definition I saw on their site for modified, is any car modified to go faster with no age stipulation.

It took my information for my 2002 Camaro and spit out a price when I requested an online quote, I just need to find time to give them a call and confirm.

Who else are you guys using? I know most people just don't say anything...

ya when I finally called they said I have to wait until the car is 15, which is stupid- a modified car is a modified car...oh well I guess another 3 years wait for me...now I am really regretting getting rid of the 6...I would have been fine since it was a 96

I don't understand why it has to be 15 years old. What's the difference if I insure a car that is 15 years old with $100,000 appraisal value (lets just say) or a brand new modded car worth the exact same?

At the end of the day if my Camaro is worth 15gs modded than it is insured for that- why does it need to be 15 years old is beyond me

How much money do you need to open up an insurance company? LOL

I wish I could start a business and only cater to modified cars...you probably need a billion dollars though

I tried Hagerty as well, was told $880 or so, full coverage, pleasure use only etc... more than my present insurance company. Now, if I had a '96 it would be <$400 or so! Just gotta wait I suppose...
