you have built a very impresive car but a blue printed motor even if it is using stock parts is not considered bolton in my book.
if it touches oil it cannot be changed , your rockers and springs are factory?
your car came with the bigger 98-00 cam and 241 heads? only late build 2000 cars did.
heads have not been apart or machined using factory head gasgets?
and your cars makes well over 400hp on a mustang dyno and its just bolton?

come on dont bs us pls

sorry no disrespect intended
Just try harder you'll get it

You're welcome.

There's guys that ran stock internals on these cars into the mid 10's which is nuts. Mind your they're doing it in a lot better air than we get.

It's amazing what you'll learn by limiting yourself to stock heads and cam. The areas that you can make or save hp is pretty cool.

Even something as simple as running a Y pipe, cut outs or X pipe can make a big difference

so would stock eliminator be considered a bolton car then?

stock tb
stock intake
stock heads
stock compresion
stock type hr and lift cam
stock rockers
stock cubic inch
stock ignition
heck those motors have more stock parts than yours
that would make the bolton record in the high 9s lol

you have done a great job of getting the most out of your combo you should be proud
but once the valve cover comes off it is not a bolton car anymore sorry.
think of the bolton list like a sealed factory motor race class (coyote fs ) ect
once the factory seal is broken the car is ileagle end of story.

Stock eliminator is different. They can have any duration cam but stock lift. Also by your rules anyone that has a rebuilt engine is ineligible? Seems odd.

well yes you can gain hp by
degreing the cam
running gapless rings
thinner head gasget
competition valvejob
coated pistions and bearings
running the bearing clearences looser
running lifters at 0 lash
running a crank scraper
profiling and polishing the crank and rods

and im sure alot more
the point is all of this would add at least 40-50hp
so by your rules this is still bolton?
now im not saying you have done this but once you open the motor, it is like opening a can of worms
and someone with alot of time and money would have an unfair advantage to somone with a factory assembled motor.

Yes it would make you ineligible as a bolt on car.

Any internal part or component that is replaced or that touches oil makes any car ineligible as a bolt on car and moves that car into the modified class.

If you replaced the whole engine with a stock 5.3L,6.0L or 6.2L or even a 7.0L and didn't touch the H/C or rods and bearings that would count for a stock type engine and be included as a bolt on car.

You can change the trans, clutch, rearend or driveshaft or any suspension component.

But you can't touch engine internals and count as a bolt on car.

One day if this ever gained more traction I could split hairs and make LT specific tables lol

apparently instant notifications aren't working for me, so I keep popping in here relatively late after things are posted...so ...sorry

Big Hammer that is a solid run, but definitely need to know what mods are done? like others have said anything that touches oil makes the car ineligible for bolt on only, but we can file that run into Class #4 for the fastest LSx's period. So please clarify what all is done and I'll post that slip up. That being said there absolutely has been guys bolt on only to hit both 10's and 11's here and it is one of my eventual goals before I do my cam swap if I can muster it.

Manzo- still waiting on your time slip so I can post it up!

Also Tom, if you replaced a motor with a stock motor other than what was offered with the car (so 5.3L for example) you would fall under the swap class. Probably the only exception I would make for swaps to still count would be if someone took a 4th gen F-body with a v6 and swapped the LS1 in (as long as it was stock) because everything would still be the same on the cars...
