Default GTO's

Okay, i would have thought you guys would have been on top of this, but the RIV list was updated, as of July 4th. And now the GTO's among alot of other cool little cars are allowed in.

Let me know if you here back, but I had to call them to get replies when I did my Firebird. I want to know because this is the car I want to get once my Firebird sells.

Anyone hear anything? I tried calling the RIV on my lunch but was on hold forever... I hope that we really can get the GTO's now.

Nothing yet, I have tried to call and sent here a couple e mails either she is on vacation or just ignoring us. If this is for real I have to find someone to buy my car.

Default This one is a project in Montreal on Kijiji...

...it is priced a bit high, but i've spoken to him via e-mail(in English),and he is motivated, about $10K i think-i don't think he knows it can now be registered here.

I called the RIV last week and confirmed that the GTO is no longer on the exclusion list. However since it is built in Australia it will be subject to 6.1% duty. If you go the RIV website you can view the list of import excluded vechiles and the GTO is no longer on the list. Other export costs/fees:

+ $204.75 RIV registration
+ GST on top on bill of sale value (total + sate tax converted to $Cdn)
+ $100 AC tax
+ 8% RST on purchase price when you licence in ON

This is awesome news. I'd love to have a GTO.

Also, stupid AC tax...I haven't used it once, but still had to pay $100 for the damn thing.
