Default 5.3 into a 1970 nova thread :) 70 nova project- I took the long route LOL !

Here is the nova when i first got it. I bought it out in concord, ca for $800 and one heck of a long day LOL.

then i made it out to my first goodguys event and said crap!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL time to redo the nova all over again! I want to go the pro-touring route~!

I then pulled the rebuilt 350 & 350 trans, and went the lsx route. Added a 9inch rear with 410 gears, 700r4 overdrive tranny.

build pictures of the lsx and the ls1 disc brakes all around will be posted soon. I going carb 5.3 lsx with longtube headers, cam, springs, and high rise intake. i took disc brakes off a 00ss camaro front and rear and will be installing them early this week. pics soon.....

O my birthday was yesterday and i went crazy LOL

ordered
18x9.5 boss 338b rear and 18x8 front
i have summit racing coming to the door step everyday this week till saturday with parts for the motor LOL
and i also picked up seats front and rear from a 2002 acura rl, which will be custom made to fit into my nova.

why put in the front bars if they're not nhra legal or very far forward of the main hoop?

Cause i wanted a look, and was not very worried about the ability to actually function.... new pictures will be posted soon with the roll bar removed.........

Getting ready to have my first kid and the wife wont let him ride with it in there so out it comes .............

Swap went well drum hubs and spindles, ls1 rotors, calipers and lines will post pictures tomorrow pretty easy set up.

Spent much of the weekend working on the motor got it started but have lots more tofinish before she will be a driver

The project is coming along getting ready to start mocking my factory transmission crossmember into place and drilling new holes for it. also i made a trip today on lunch to the auto parts store for hoses, belts, coolant, vaccum lines........ Im getting so close to it being a running car again.

Did you have to measure for the serpentine belt? or did you just get the stock belt?
