Default Rpm freeze

With my carb'd ls1 and msd 6010 box, if I run both fans for long then get on it, it'll freeze at about 5000 rpm and power cuts out. What could this be about? If I keep both fans off, this doesn't happen. Do I need to run the msd and or the fans on a relay? Thanks in advance

Maybe you aren't getting a full 12 volts to box when the fans are running.

How do you have things wired? What does your volt meter read with the fans on and off?

There are a few threads about high RPM trouble with the MSD box being attributed to poor 12v supply. I run mine on a relay and haven't seen any problems at all. I would recommend doing that.
