Should be fine, if you know how to read plugs, pull 8 and read and see where the timing mark is.

That is probably a good number. Make sure you have enough fuel system. What kind of kit? How much fuel pressure?

The Holley red is not a lot of fuel pump. I worry that may not being enough. And, 8 lbs is a little on the high side. 6-7 would be better. I know that pump is regulated to 7 pounds, does that mean you are not running a regulator at the carb?

180 horse is getting into serious territory for a stock short block. I would want to be sure the fuel system is up to it. Also, how do you have that old compucar kit jetted?

Consider doing some reading on this sub-forum of The Bullet:
http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=26
Do some searches on that site on:
  • Nitrous Jetting
  • Flowing Fuel Pressure
  • Nitrous Timing

Pay special attention to anything said by Monte Smith and Steve Johnson. Reading there will be a wise investment. However, don't venture into the political section or the trash or be trashed section. It is a jungle.

Old compucar kit at 180 is more like 100-125 by today's standards and prolly on the rich side to boot. I'd still head speed and zones advice though.
