Default who is running 40+ low load total timing

Looking to get some better mileage out of the combo and thinking of tossing the MAP sensor back on for street driving. Of course I'd lock it out for racing just in case it were to screw up at the track but for cruising to car shows I was thinking of adding a few more degrees to help the engine run cooler and get better mileage. What are you guys running for total timing?

I think I've got 46° in mine (34 on RPM and 12 on vacuum), but I really need to plug in and see as it's been awhile and I've made changes on my program that haven't been uploaded...

did you notice it running cooler? Took it on an hour long drive last summer in 97 degree heat and high humidity running around 2800 rpm the whole way(no overdrive) to a car show for cancer benefits and the car was in the 210-215 degree temp range the whole way there With 34 total timing. Just seeing if upping the timing will allow the engine to run cooler at part throttle.

I run over 40* at part throttle using the MAP. I cant really say about cooler running as I never ran it without added MAP timing down low, but i can say mine runs COOL all the time. I have a 186* thermostat with 3 3/16 holes drilled in it - theese are to bypass a small amount of coolant since the heater connections are plugged.
I can verify that the added timing really added low throtle low rpm response, and that this thing has always been very good on fuel.
I just unplug the MAP sensor when at the strip.

edit, total ignition was at 47* - 35* on the main curve just off idle to 3500ish, and added 12* MAP ramping in at a psia setting that would allow it to cruise on full map advance, and come out quickly with any added throtle.

this is 1 of my programs I ran with my old cam and 9:1 LY6, this 1 is actually 50* at low load(high vacuum) below 3500rpm.
12*map advance
38* just off idle
dip to 34 at 5K(assumed torque peak)
35* from 6K on up
It idled close to 6psia, fluctuated a bit up and down

If the map is set up correct you don't need to change anything at the track.

Ran mid 40's with no issues on dads. As soon as is sees anything more than cruse load it would knock the timing out of it.

Much better idle and milage was good.

Strangely enough, this has been only the second 'rod I've ever had with no cooling problems what-so-ever. Even with the A/C on in 100° SETX summers...
