Default attempting to get 400rwhp out of a 5.3 in my '95 z28 without breaking the bank

Any selection choices on what I should do? as in choice of heads/cam that are decently priced. Ive already got a set of pacesetter longtubes and Holley 750

You need a few things, compression, cam and RPM, can be done with nice heads. Seen some 400 rwhp dyno numbers on performancetrucks.net, sure they have the build info there.

what zone said

LS motors respond well to aftermarket cams - with what you already have plus some valve springs and a cam (and enough rpms) you might get to 400 at the crank.

I think 400 at the crank with a cam and boltons would be a walk in the park. 400 at the wheels would be my guess. JMHO. Eric L

For one I hope you have a L33 5.3, they are the all aluminum 5.3 with 335 hp. Come in 04-06 silverado Z71 or the one in the SSR before they went to the 6.0

Think my 03 TB is aluminum 5.3, but i am not sure if it is the flat top piston setup.
