Default Out with LT1, in with LQ9

So I purchased an LQ9 at a local junk yard a little over a year ago with hopes of putting it into my 1994 Z-28. The car currently has the original LT1 with a blown head gasket and shot opti. I haven't had much time (or any really) to do anything with the car on account of me getting a new rotating shift work schedule, so it's been sitting for almost a year now.

It's getting a carb and cam as of right now. Anybody have any suggestions on what else will make it an aggressive street car? I was going to purchase some Dynatech headers for it but they are a little pricey haha. What headers have others used and what exactly will fit on it? I have heard you can run LS1 headers on them? I'm trying to keep the build under 4k (not including the price of the engine). Thanks for any input!

Need a ls1 k member. Then the ls1 headers work fine.
