Default what stall to use?

i found a good 200r4 for a good deal. my car is 78 chevy nova, using 2005 5.3 stock with edelbrock performer rpm set up, carb will be a quick fuel slayer, gear will be 3.42 or 3.73 still in the air, that stall converter should i use, car is around 3500pds, thanks ron c

You could use a stock convertor with a stock 5.3 if you wanted to. if your looking for a little more giddiup id use a 2500 or so.

Stock would be fine but if you want some punch, 3200 minimum.

ive got a 5.3/2004r w 3.42 gears and 2400 stall. need more!! i might only run the once or twice a year so its not that big of a deal. I'd want a tight 3200 converter. my car ran a 13.2 @109 with a 2.0 60ft, so a converter would definitely help me out alot. i am going t56 though and atleast 3.73 gears. 3.42 isn't enough.

I have 4.30 with the 6.0, works perfect, 2000 rpm was 76 mph, was a blast onthe street. May do it again, but the rear is going in the TA. The 91 that is gettin the t56 has 3.42.
