Default MSD Box that comes with the Victor Jr. kit

I was told that the MSD box that comes with the Victor Jr. kit is junk and isn't a true 6LS.

Anyone know anything about this?

Ah yes that is what I meant. Son of a bitch, wish I would've known this before I bought the kit.

It's actually cheaper to buy the intake and 6ls seperate and you get both a longer harness and increased tunability...if you have a stock motor the edelbrock box will suffice, but for a modded motor 6ls is the way to go...people will buy the edelbrock box if you knock a few bucks off the new price

Places like Summit and Jegs have pretty good return policies. See if you can exchange it. Summit let me exchange a 6010 box for a 6012 about a year and a half after I bought it.

Plus one, I saved close to $150 buying the manifold and msd box separate, and the msd box is better. The only con to buying them separate is you don't get the ls1 type map sensor that comes with the kit, but that isn't a big deal and is outweighed but the other benefits of buying them separate.

Wow, I also wish i had know this before. If the box is not tunable, what is the serial port used for? Just monitoring for informational purposes?

It's not hooked up to anything from what I understand.

That sucks. Seems stupid too. I guess the moral of the story is to do your homework first rather than have buyers remorse later.

+1 on that, I bought a set of rear wheels from billet specialties and didn't realize they sold fbody specific caliber clearance wheels. so long story short I scratched the **** out of the back of the wheel trying to get them to fit and jegs still took them back for full price
