Default converting to carb few questions

hey im sure this question has been beat to death but ill ask anyway. ive got a 79 vette that ive pulled the motor and tranny from and was going to swap an ls1 into it and go efi, however im considering going carb to basically make the swap more pain free and easier. i have a complete ls1 with z06 cam that i was going to swap, my question is what do i need buy to convert it over to carb and what would some recomendations as far as specs and brands to go with? never messed with carb but goals would be nothingcrazy but setup so that later down the road if i want to go to the bottle or if i want to start getting heavier into mods its already setup to perform. appreciate the help

You will need the carb, intake and MSD 6010 ignition controller. Everything else will depend on what you are looking to get out of the engine. There are an array of parts for carbed LS setups.

Really though...car is already carbed, so, intake, and MSD box....New about $500-$750 or so ? Some parts can be found used or bought and changed mind ?

very true, since the vette was already setup for a 383 stoker that was carbed in order to get it driving again soon teh easiest and cheapest method would be carb. my current thoughts are an edlebrock performer rpm intake, a edlebrock 2015 cam and then edelbrocks ignition controller. as far as carbs any good recomendations? ive had little tiem with them and the only one ive owned and driven on was a holly 4150 for about 2 months time. as far as tranny, im not sure. the car came to me with a 700r4 tranny in it, and if i go back to the 700r4 i wont have to change my driveshaft. im starting to think id like a small stall in the r4 as well, maybe 2200-2600 range. thoughts? not looking to make crazy power but looking to have enough grunt to be a nice cruiser with ***** when i need it. maybe later on hook it up to the bottle.

Msd 6010 has timing pills and you can also plug it in for a custom timing map.

The edelbrock only has the pills.

Also buy the intake and box seperate. I paid $540 shipped for my Vic jr and 6010

But mike at skspeed was a real close 2nd. But i had prior obligations

thanks for the info ill buy seperate and go with an msd box as well.

question i brielfy looked over the vic jr and the performer rpm and thought the performer would better serve my goals since it supposedlly had more HP at certain RPM despite the vic jr having more HP at top rpm. i figured the performer would be better for a street application.
