mill heads?
My combo; ly6, heads already milled. 020. Vic Jr, 950 ultra hp, 6.0 with l92s, turbo 350, 5500 8 inch bte converter. 4.10 gear. Changing to 4.30 gear, considering porting heads, possible super Vic. Wanting to mill possibly. 010-.020 more from heads? Can't go thinner gasket. Mill, or leave alone?

Thats just it, I do want every donkey, mule and horse. lol. I do plan to move up to a 6.2 later, but for now, I want every hundreth I can get out of this thing. Plan is to lose about a 100 lbs or so total before spring. Hopefully with just the gear and weight, it will go bottom 6.20s. Martin at Tick voted yes on all of it. He is the one that advised me about the thinner head gaskets, he said I needed .035 quench between piston and head, and I think I am about that now, so that leaves no room for the thinner head gasket. But thats why I posted, to see where the opinions go....

Are you spraying it? I wouldn't cut anymore off the heads if you are. Thicker head deck should help keep from lifting a head gasket when you cram it. Im still for cleaning the exhaust up, and leaving the intake ports alone. I cant help but think its going to cost you power at 6 liters. Stroke the 6.2 to 418, then Id hog them out and be able to use the extra flow.

id say go ahead go with the gears and the intake,, port the heads, ill still think the bumpin the compression on up,,,, what carb u going with,,, almost time for 2 of them,,, u about maxed out the 950...

I still can't believe you're running the numbers you are and with the combo you have...I have a LOT of tuning to do I guess seeing what your combo is Vs. mine, even taking into account the weight difference.
I'm not saying you're lying, I'm just in awe....a full second faster.
My heads are milled .050 and they had to cut the pistons...just FYI.

A true 950 should move enough air for a 6.0, even a 6.2 up to some serious RPM. I would think way higher than you are willing to turn without some serious short block work. There really isn't any reason to go with double 4s anymore, unless you are running too much cid or RPM for a single. The 2 fours thing got started back when the biggest carb you could get was something like a 625 AFB. With the flow of the modern carbs out there now, and the great distribution of a big single plane, duals are only needed for monster big cube stuff like tall deck 632s and such, or engines turning super bike like RPMs. Just take Nascar for an example, they are turning well over 9000rpms on 358cid engines making 800RWHP and will run way over 200mph with a 4150 Holley. They have changed to EFI now, but the power didn't go up.

3300ish I'd guess....need to scale it.
32* it went 11.8 off the trailer...added 2*(34) and 11.33....added 2*(36) more and 11.32 with a better 60',330', and 1/8....added 2*(38) more again and lost everywhere (but just barely before letting out due to being outta the groove IE: wall got close)... that was the last run.
Since then I dropped it to 37*
I have a handful of jets and plan on throwing some in for a big change and see where it goes.
I'll also be throwing some BR7's in it.
Enough on me/mine....your thread

According to this calculator http://www.wallaceracing.com/hpcalculatoreigth.php you are making around 600hp assuming race weight is around 3000LB...
If so, I would change nothing.
Your setup is having me question some of my own 6.0 build plans!
