Default carbd 5.3 reads full lean

Started my Carb lm7 today for the first time. On my wideband it reads 14.7 with key on as it shud then soon as I start it it goes full lean and doesn't display numbers just dashes --.- cud this be because of open headers? Truck has Vic Jr intake. 6010. 1 5/8 headers 2700stall and 4160 750holley. Some help me out

Yes, if the sensor is too close to the outlet then air leaks could give it a false reading. Not sure if it goes dashes because of that. find a users manual for your unit.

I had to run a 12" pipe behind my header with a turn down to restrict it enough to let the sensor read.

You have almost the same set up as I do. Mine does the same I have not figured it out either yet. I am thinking it also could be that I don't have the rest of the exhaust on yet. Because there is no way it can be lean, when the inside of the collector and plugs say different.
