Default ready for upgrades....I think.

Talk me into it guys. Ran a best of 6.34 last season. Carb close but still a little left. The plan was to install race seats and remove stickers, a savings of 68 lbs, pull heads and mill.,010 more off, do some mild hand porting on int and exhaust mostly exhaust side. More of a good clean up, like blend guides and such. Then I have installed a 4.30 gear for this year. I feel like the gear and weight loss should put it at about 6.25. Would you mess with pulling heads for mill and minor port work and port match? Heads are milled. 020 now. Comp is at about 10.5-10.7-1 now. I know it's last minute. But I need motivation. Thanks in advance.

I think bumping compression on your engine (LY6 stock bottom end I think?) would definitely be a good thing.

Just looking at some numbers with the comp calculator, even with the piston .005" out of the hole and heads running approximately 65cc chambers, still be looking at just under 10:1 static comp, and with your cam dynamic around 7.6:1 that being with a guesstimate of 283* adv. duration on the intake lobe, going by the comp QXI lobe which is 231@.050/.622" lift, pretty sure same specs I read on your cam.

Yes, it is sbe. I want to do it, just had so much going on. Now can't race much since we are waiting on new baby to arrive in 20 days or so. I guess I will just bite the bullet and yank them off. Hope to see some gains

Actually I read the comp cams lobe wrong, that is with a 1.6 ratio rocker, can't seem to find a lobe similar at 1.7 ratio.

this pass was a 1.36 60ft i believe. Its still kind of let me down, the car lost weight, gained gear and would have ran a 6.32 on last pass but i pedaled it. It did get a new best 60ft 1.350, previous was 1.357 i know its not much, but lil better. I dont know why it seems to pull so damn hard thru the middle of the track. My buddy has a old school 383 stroker, dart heads, solid cam, mini tubbed. Our 60s would be the same, but at 594 my car was a 5.92 his car at 594 was a 6.2? This thing pulls like a raped ape.

His tubs are slowing him down on the big end, that's besides the point I'm sure.

He runs alcohol and big gears and a glide. I love beating up on big tired cars. Lol I have a 2 inch open spacer to try next outing. Gotta work on reaction time tho.

Ok, thought it was a large converter. Hoping the 4400 converter I'll be using works the way I need it to.
