intake/carb choice & size? Ly6 with cnc'd 821's.
I have a stock rebuilt Lq4 short block cnc'd ls3 heads. (275cc intake and flow 240 cfm on a 600 lift) 250 shot direct port injection kit. Im prolly gonna have to shift at 7000rpm to really use the heads. Will be running 4L80e with probably a 3600 stall and 4:56 gears. I have been looking into going E85 with Holly hp e85 carb. Don't know what size to go with yet? Could use the help on that as well. I don't know if I should go with dual plane manifold with spacer or single? Not sure what brands would work better for my application? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Car weighs about 2900 pounds.will mainly be use for strip but some street. Wanted to wait and see what intake and carb was running and have one custom ground to the flow graph of the head with other things took into accountability. Prolly will be somewhere around 612 lift or so. Heads are milled twenty thousands. If I go e85 I will prolly go with different pistons to put compression around 12:5.1. I'm still up in the air. First ls build and just learned of e85.

similar to my build, check out specs on that, but thats a pure strip car.

Then I'm probably going to get some higher compression pistons then. I would like to run 13:5.1 compression if it's going to be safe. I heard the e85 fuel is highly corrosive and sometimes can corrode within two weeks or so. If so is there a way to stabilize it?

Yeah, it wont happen that fast. BUT, I wouldn't use rubber fuel hose. I switched all of my hoses to the PTFE braided from Aeroquip, and I run pump fuel. But with the amount of ethanol content in pump gas now days, it eats through the rubber line after a while. Now imagine E85. Eric L

You have to make some changes to run E85 over pump gas or race gas. You need to set the carb up properly, ive seen a lot of guys running quick fuels E85 carbs on here.
You need a pump and regulator that will pump the BIG ammounts of fuel that is required with E85, and will hold up to the corrosiveness.
As previously stated you need lines that will hold up to the corrosiveness of E85
If you go fuel Injected, you need LARGE injectors to keep up with the demand.
If you want to go with twins next year, I think E85 is a great idea, but running high compression and a carb this year, and switching to injection and twins next year is just a waste of money. You need to pick one or the other IMHO. Hope this helps, Eric L
