Default MSD 6012 tuning

Hey everyone. I'm a few days away from starting my 5.3 but I need some help. The combo is a 1993 Chevy caprice put on a diet weighs 3600 with me in it. The motor is a 2007 5.3, 243 heads (no milling) 10.1 compression, comp cams 222/230, .581/.591" lift, 111 lsa. GM performance parts single plane intake, 750 Holley mechanical secondary, 1.75" headers. Trans is manual valve body th400 with 4000 stall converter, 4.10 gears, boxed adjustable trailing arms. My question is getting started with the 6012. I have downloaded it to my laptop but haven't connected it to the msd yet. I want to zero out the map signal as I plan to run nitrous also. How do I lock out timing, would that be best for my combo, and what should I set timing to. Cars primary use is racing. Thanks in advance and I have been searching for help on here for the last few weeks.

Do not use the pills that came with it.
You'll need to use the "dots" to write your own curve, save it on laptop, and download it to the MSD box.
Like this...one curve I tried out....

Thanks Doug. Do I use the run retard curve or the launch retard curve box?

I'm just getting ready to start the motor for the first time. I seen the other boxes I need so I can do a timing curve like yours. I'm mostly concerned about just getting it to start and run without the pills. Thanks for your input.
