I am looking into putting my 01 ls1 into my. 89 Iroc . Carbing it because basically the local tuners decided they aren't taking in new customers. Will be easier to wire too .

What I want to know is it possible to get this thing in the low 7s high 6s in the 1/8? What cam and what stall for a th350 would you suggest? I may do a trans brake .

I will be shelling out money for the hawks headers . I wish the one company would come out with bigger primaries on theirs. I have a s60 with 3:73s . Full suspension, gutted car. . No air . I am planning on running a manual steering box.

The motor helped my 4th gen do 7.95 in the 1/8 . This is bone stock long block. No headers. Just a 3600 fti stall, 3:73s, lid and off road y pipe. Thanks in advance.

My 6 liter with a carb and trex went 7.1 all day on motor at 3150 lbs. so yes, your goal is not a problem. Custom cam and some ported heads will make damn sure. I would like to see a deeper gear in the rear, a 3.73 is not that great, but with the right converter and some 26x10.5 slicks, it will still do the deed. Especially with a brake.

Thanks for the reply.

I was thinking of contacting Brian Tooley to set me up with a cam package. I may have the 3:73s replaced with 4:10s. I am still hoping to make the 15 mile trip to the track and cruise around town in it.

I have access to a trailer but my 95 silverado needs some *****. So I would have to borrow a truck until I put a better motor in mine.

Sounds like 2 LS swaps. Lol

Get a 4L80 if it will be a street car. Well well worth it.

Agreed with Zones go with the 80e and TCI full manual valve body it's just like having a th400 but with an overdrive and a lockup so you still get great gas mileage. It's a bit pricey but well worth it.

Screw that valve body, north Texas converter sells a 150$ harness setup that allows full manual control!

That's what I'm getting!

Good info. I just saved the link for north Texas converters. I might sell my 4l60 stuff to put towards a 4l80.

The TCI has a transbreak and uses no checkballs, easiest swap ever worth the money is all I was saying.

No progress on this. I decided to leave the 01 z28 alone. I bought a 05 6.0 long block. Has bad cam bearings. My brother has a th350 long tail I plan to use. Saves me money one cause I already have a 4l60 length strange driveshaft to go with my s60. Car won't be driven a whole lot. I am hoping to bracket race it in the 7.50 class at local track.

That thing picks up 28 MPH on the back half? I would have thought you would be 105-106 in the 1/8th.

25-26ish, but i swapped intake (jr to super) and transmissions (th400 to t56) at the same time, so not sure i can blame it all on the cam.

Didn't recognize you till just now Matt. I'll have to hit you up for advice on the mullet board when I get into this project. I'd be more than happy if my car ran close to your times.

sure thing man, pm me here or facebook. it's a real simple build, but definitely a good match of parts. custom cam grind to your combo is key i believe. carb'd ls's are fun!
