Default AFR reading......

All hooked up and first "test" drive around the block with Daughter at the laptop recording.
NO full tilt blasts but did get on it some. After a cruise around the block, up to temp, at idle it was upper 12's to very low 13's.
I tried to watch as I was on the gas at cruise...very jumpy I guess that's the way it is.
Anywho............WHAT should it read or I look for ????

Jumpy could be a miss or even something as simple as a exhaust leak or sensor too close to the pipes exit?

I believe it is typical for it to be all over the place.
Mine is anyways, the AFR changes as the carb goes through it's circuits.

My O2 is fairly jumpy as well. dont get too carried away with every .1 change, just watch the overall.
My stuff always idled best around 13 - 13.5:1
I would pay attention as I stepped into throttle to see what the shooters/cams were doing for accell enrichment - mine worked best when I see a VERY momentary rich spike to about 11.8 - 12.5 during throttle transitions.
cruise I liked anywhere in the 13 -14 range, but my cruise A/F's always seemed to be slightly rich arouns 13.2 as I was not overly concerned with perfecting it, and my idle mix screws effected it alot. best idle setting, seemed to richened up my cruise equally. I guess it was cruising on the idle circuit.
I ran my WOT A/F's between 12.8 - 13.2, It seemed to run much the same no matter where it fell in that range. the last tuneup I ran was at 13.2:1 WOT

I feel better now after seeing someone else posted a vid after a dyno tune showing their AFR meter....very jumpy like mine...guess it's normal with them.
