Default Convertor the issue?

Looking for some insight as to the car leaves like a donkey 1.6 60's and most are pointing in the direction of my convertor being to tight...Havent sprayed it yet but seems others on the board are having better luck on the motor than I have been 6.90's on the motor 1/8 mile.. I know the car is built for the bottle but seems im on the slower side of the spectrum for the power made 510/426

Full weight 92 coupe

408 ls
950 carb
Vic jr
ported l92's
247/262 cam

4l80 trans
4k billet tripple disk stall built for 350 shot

4;10 geared

Here is a dyno graph to hopefully shed some light... what stall speed would you reccomend? thanks for any help [IMG][/IMG]

Most guys are running converter's suited to all motor, or a small shot. Of course your converter is going to be tight!

See how it runs on spray first. If your happy and it 60's were you want it on bottle leave it alone. How much you plan to hit it out of the hole?

Its a local shop and just took it there for dyno only made 3 pulls and drove it home....I noticed that it doesn't seem to read till upper rpms but what are you saying looks off? I may hit up another dyno....and to answer the other question the car will work its self to a 300 in the near future

If the converter was built for that much nitrous, there's no wonder why it doesn't 60' on the motor. What were you expecting exactly? Can't have the best of both worlds.

I understand that a nitrous convertor was going to hurt the motor passes but judging from a couple similar setups on here it seems to be off a lil bit....no big deal was just seeing if it looked to be in the ball park for my combo....as I didn't expect miracles on the motor in the first place

Post a timeslip. How much spray are you planning on? What is the actual raceweight? What RPM did you shift?

n/a 60ft with nitrous convertor will always be far from optimal. i'd say 1.6 aint bad considering, might even find you pick up more down the end of the track as its not slipping

graph looks fine to me

Now that we have the timeslip, we need to know the weight of this thing. That is really the other half of the equation.

I have to say though. With that much camshaft, I would think you would have a higher peak HP with those heads and intake. I would love to see the cam card for the full specs on that camshaft.

Is that supposed to be RWHP?? Assuming race weight of 3200LB and approximate 1/4 mile of 10.79 going by your half track (mph is pretty low) you are making 510 at the motor going by Pro Systems racing calculator - not at the tyres!
