Default Broke My Transmission

About a month ago, I gave my car a little nitrous smack on a back road and the transmission started whining. TH200-4Rs always whine in 1st, but it started whining louder in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

I called my trans guy and told him about the situation and he said that my car should not be able to break that trans and to send it up to him. So, I pulled it out and put it on a truck in his direction. He sent it back the next week free of charge with a fried planetary pinion gear zip tied to the side of the transmission for me to add to my killed parts collection. One side of the gear was torn up and discolored. Oddly enough, that is literally that only thing I can ever remember breaking on this car...... knock on wood.

So, hopefully I can find time to get the trans back in this weekend. I am going through horsepower withdrawal. Time to start planning my assault on the 9 second barrier.

Well at least you got it fixed quickly, pretty cool that the builder fixed it for free.

Well, glad it want something that caused serious damage to other parts. Speaking of 9 seconds, I need to clean my plate and get to work on the mustang, maybe 2015?

The thought crossed my mind, but I want my 10 second N/A and 9 second nitrous timeslips first.

LOL. No, just a little 81n jet tune. From a 45 MPH roll it hits pretty hard.

Trans back in and working great. Happy day. Using my buddy's lift sure does make trans work more enjoyable.

Garage lift FTW! Glad to see your guy standing behind his work and making short time on the turnaround. Hopefully you are now on track to hit the single digits.

Took the car out for a while tonight. It is really running well. I am always surprised at how enjoyable it is after I have been out of it for a period of time.

That's a tough transmission to take that amount of power.

The 200 is faster. Lonnie tells me I would lose 2 tenths or more if I went to the 80.
