Default LQ9/243 to LY6/l92

Ok guys had a lq9 with ms4 cam 243 heads in my street car 1969 nova carbed full interior 350 gear, ran 11.70's on street tires... Sold that bought a 2009 ly6 with l92s thinking about a 229/236 624/615 on a 112 stock head casting and ls9 gaskets and headstuds. any suggestions? I was told by texas speed this will fit, I didn't think I could go this close to a ms4 size without flycutting but he told me its a different cam lobe... anyway any suggestions would be great... th350 with 3600stall btw Was leaning towards the holley l92 carb intake due to power band being 2500-7k where the cam will make power and I wont run the engine over 6900 or 7krpm

search for my build thread and several others. Mines not the fastest, but you will see the potential.

I had this cam and combo. completely stock long block LY6 5k miles never pulled the heads. It ran 11.0 on motor 10.0 on 150 shot. Sprayed it a lot because it really helped my reaction times. 850 DP Holley, 3500 10" stall, 4.10 gears 28 x10.50 slicks. Shifted at 7000 rpm's. The truck weighed 3250 without me in it.

Thanks man. When I sold that cam to a member here, I gave him the cam card. Maybe the original poster will post a picture of the card.

I also had a stock LY6 that I shoved a 227/235, 114+4 cam into, it went 11.39 @120 @ 3425 raceweight.
That combo was the most fun of any setup I have had in my car

I found this TSP 229/236 cam card from another build. It was ground on a 111 LSA. The one in the truck was a 112 LSA.

There are a couple guys in this thread making exceptional power with square port heads and similar parameters on the cheap:
